Josh had settled on a branch on the sturdiest tree he could find. His eyes darted around, looking at his surroundings, finally landing on Amber and George who were collecting water from a flowing river.
Josh got out an arrow, steadying his hand, he pulled back the string and the arrow went soaring throughout the forest. Cutting through the air,the arrow just skimmed Ambers head and hit a small deer. George scowled up at Josh, shaking his head. He wished he could yell at the top of his lungs at Josh for being so reckless; however he knew that they must be quiet.
Josh hopped branch to branch, climbing down the tree. He walked by the pair and smirked,"dinners on me".
Amber had collected 4 bottles of water, enough to last them for a week if they were strict with their consumption.
They began to all walk over to the deer,George kept a sharp eye, this was just his protective nature. The blanket of fog gradually got thicker as they walked up stream from the river.
"So we leave tomorrow?" Amber asked curiously.
                              "Thats the plan",George answered.
They arrived at the destination of their prey,Josh knelt down and lifted the lifeless creature up.
"Hey guys look im a dancing deer!" Josh started to make the deer dance, swinging its front legs back and forth. Amber let out a faint giggle,Josh was always the one to liven any situation. "Knock it off, cant you ever be serious Josh?" They all fell silent. George was the one to kill the party.
Sweat started to drip from their heads as they lugged the deer back to their little cottage. It was a pretty long walk back, and it felt even longer with the lingering tention from Georges earlier remark. Once they arrived they flung the deer onto a worn out wooden bench out front. "Ill skin it later",Josh muttered as George unlocked the front door.
Amber made her way in, collapsing onto the sofa; she fumbled around in her pocket, finally pulling out a small sheet of paper.  "Fur,food, water and clothes . ." she read out, drawing a tick besides them in her mind.
"All ready for tomorrow" she frowned.
"Itll be fun i guess" George lied.
Josh was up stairs reminissing about how this all started yet he wasnt quite sure what this was,no one was.
George jogged up stairs and barged into Joshs room abruptly, leaning against his carved crisp oak table that had been ruined by the crude comments carved into it by Amber on the days she got board.
"May I help you?" Josh glanced up at George, raising his eyebrows ever so slightly. He sat himself up, expecting more than one or two exchanges.
"Just came to see if your ready . ." George had decided it was his job to make sure everything or one was ready.
"Now or never ay?" Josh smirked leaning back into his bed.
That night hardly anyone could sleep, they could only imagine the wonders and danger that lied ahead.
