Ruby's P.O.V
The door to the basement bursts open to reveal a VERY angry Zoey.
I'm in deep shit now....
"Ruby! Are you ok?" She says fretting over me.
"She's fine, Zoey." Elliot says from the other end of the room. Her head snaps up to him.
"You! What did you do to Ruby?" She says, pointing a finger at him.
"I did nothing to her. But those two did." He says, pointing to Sam and Jake.
"WHAT DID YOU DO TO MY BABY?!?" She says getting up into their faces.
"Mum!" I whine out in embarrassment. Suddenly I feel something moving under my skirt. I look down and see the cat tail. I quickly grab it, then put my other hand on top of my head, feeling for cat ears. They are there. I squeak out in surprise and annoyance.
My mum turns to me and notices that my arm is over my head and that my other arm is behind me.
"What is it honey?"
"N-nothing." I stutter back. Shit. Why did I just stutter. Might as well just kill myself now.
"What is it Ruby?" She says, coming closer to me, worry evident on her face.
Then she quickly grabs my arm on top of my head and pulls it off, to reveal my cat ears.
She gasps in horror.
She grabs my other arm, making me let go of my tail.
She gasps again.
"Oh Ruby....."
I sigh. I can't lie now. It's plain obvious.
"I'm a mew, Mum. I've been chosen to fight for the survival of the Earth."
She turns to Elliot and Wesley sharply.
"Why?! Why'd you set it off again?!" You already have a team. And anyway, my marks back. Same with the others. As soon as the new enemy appeared, our animal DNA set off again." She says, muttering the last part. Trying to make sure we don't hear. But since this morning, I can hear and see really well. Maybe it's the cat DNA's doing.
"It wasn't me who did it. As I said before, it was them." Elliot says back, pointing at Sam and Jake.
She turns to them again.
"So it was you? Why did you set off the mew project again?"
Sam and Jake look at each other in surprise.
"How do you know about that?!?" They say at the same time.
"Jin-"
Don't start!" Elliot says sharply.
"Oh, you want to know how I know?" She says with a slight smirk.
"Let me show you." She says, pulling out a small pendant, identical to mine.
She kisses it and says, "Power pendant, metamorphosis!" She rises up, surrounded in pink glowing light. Just like I had earlier. She transforms into her mew form.
I turn to Sam and Jake. They look like their eyes might pop out of their sockets. I stifle a giggle. It's not the time to be laughing.
"Does this show you how I know?" She says to the two boys. They snap their agape mouths shut and turn away, embarrassed. Now that's funny. They were being accusing and she showed them.
"Awwwwwh. Isn't that sweet. The two generations all together." We hear a high-pitched voice say from above us....
