2nd year students at Sanshu middle school, Aiko and Kyoto, along with senior Suki and first year Yumi are chosen to serve the Shinju as "Heros". Little do they know they will have to make huge sacrifices that could cost them their lives.
I tried to stay calm as the wall of colour enveloped me. My stomach felt like it was being turned inside out and I felt like I was about to die.
All of the pain stopped when I was flung onto the ground in a land of colour. It looked like I was inside of a water colour painting. There were tree-like branches every where and I couldn't see what they were extending from. There was a purple sky with white spots scattered everywhere. they weren't clouds, more like undeveloped areas of this place.

"Suki!" I yelled,
"Aiko! Where are you?" she replied,
"Do you think I know!" I said yelling to her
"Aiko!" Said Kyoto and Yumi as they ran towards me together.
"Where's Suki" I asked.
They pointed over to my left and there I saw her running towards us.
Then a giant ball of fire flew towards her and everyone screamed to warn her. As she turned slowly she was hit and flew right to us and skidded on the ground.
"SUKI!" yelled Yumi as she ran over to her.
"Ergh... I'm ok" she said as she got up "That is a Vertex" she said as she pointed in the distance. There was a giant figure that was floating in the deep purple sky. My mouth fell open and a shiver went up my spine.
"These are the main enemies of humanity and it is our job to destroy it as the heroes chosen by the Shinju~sama" said Suki with a completely stoic face.
"Remember the app I told you to put on your phones".
I nodded and she continued "Open it and press on the flower, please don't freak out by what happens, I will do it too".
I did as she said and a sort of armor started forming around the hand that was holding the phone. Soon it covered my whole body and a two whips formed in my hands.
"Your weapons will be used to fight the vertexes" said Suki "I know that this is a lot to take in but the whole world in depending on you right now.
I looked down to the ground and then smiled "Then lets go then". I started running towards the Vertex while I hopped from each branch. I approached the Vertex, and before it could attack me I flung my whips around it and split it in half.
"Aiko... its still alive" said Yumi with fear in her voice.
"Huh" I said as it flung a fireball and threw me about 100 meters away. I ran back and said out of breath "how are you supposed to kill this thing".
"We need to surround the Vertex and then its soul will become vulnerable" said Suki.
I nodded and ran into position. "In position" said Kyoto, then me, then Yumi in a more fearful voice.
The Vertexes soul became visible and I charged at it and hit it with my whips. They rebounded off and I fell to the ground. I tried three more times until I thought it was hopeless and just lied on the ground.
"What is this" I asked as a red and black coating spread across the ground.
"The barrier that the Shinju~sama creates gets damaged when we seal a Vertex for to long" said Suki "It causes something bad to happen in the real world, so hurry!".
Suddenly it coursed through my brain, the world is depending on me right now, my actions right at this moment affect the world that I live in. I jumped up and threw myself at the Vertexes soul once again but failed. I lied on the ground for a bit once again as a tear rolled down my cheek. I looked towards the others who were working so hard to seal the Vertex. I jumped up once again and screamed "I. Need. To. FIGHT!" and flew at the soul this time shattering it with ease.
"Ha I did it" I said exhausted as I fell to the ground. "Aiko!" They all said at the same time as they ran towards me. "Are you ok", said Kyoto smiling.
"THIS IS NOT A SMILING MATTER! MY NOSE HURTS!" I said as a joke. "Ha ha, your nose better not cause another one of these" said Kyoto while every one else laughed.
"Now we only have to fight 11 more!" said Suki in sort of a nervous voice. "WHAAAAAAAT" I yelled and curled into a ball on the ground. Suki closed her eyes and laughed nervously.
"Guys look" I looked over to where Yumi was pointing and the ground was disintegrating.
"I guess our work here in done" I said as I staring out into the distance.
"Ya know you don't look cool doing that" said Yumi laughing.
"Says the person who went out on stage and cried because the crowd was laughing" I said.
"Oh burn" said Suki smiling
The ground started disintegrating underneath us and we appeared on the rooftop of the school. "so is everything going to be ok here" asked Kyoto.
Suki nodded and smiled "Everything will be fine, at least... for now".
