Kayla's pov

My whole life I grew up in Texas, besides the year I spent in Florida with friends. But really, what's so great about Texas? Well many things, but one of my favorite things is the fall. The fall weather is beautiful here I won't want to live anywhere else. Fall finally begin and that meant lots of time with family. But, back to the point, i'm a 19 year old girl who is working for a major in graphic design, not only do I take classes online, but I also work full time. I have a passion for what I do, and the people I work with make it even better.

I also have a daughter who is almost 2 and is full of life. Her name is Summer, while I'm at work she's either with my parents or her "aunt" Sarah. Sarah has been my best friend since 6th grade. In high school Sarah and I didn't have many friends, but also weren't shy, we attend almost all of the high school events.

Right now I have a full time paid internship and it covers everything Summer and I need. We live with my parents, in San Antonio Texas. Summer's father is sort of in the picture however, the last time he saw her, she was 2 months. It's been pretty hard without him. But we still manage to get by.

It is January 3rd and I have a huge meeting for work at 2pm today. My boss Mr. Evans. Is putting together a team to work for a manager named Rico. I don't know much about it but I do know that it is a very important meeting that everyone has to attend. Summer is staying with Sarah today since both my parents have to work today.

I am running late to the office and it's already 2:15. Traffic was horrible, the highway had 3 of the 4 lanes closed. Once I park I run into the building hoping that Mr. Evans isn't to upset. I arrive and knock. I heard serval "come in" and I walk in quietly and take my set. Everyone seems very focused and it surprises me. Sure my boss can be strict, but he's usually very laid back. I whisper to Taylor asking for the lasted information that was passed. She kindly hands me it and I start to review.

As I start reading it, it seems like a great position and it pays very well. however it does include traveling and plenty of late hours. I start to consider until I get to the bottom. I freeze, completely shocked by the name I see.

Austin Mahone

Yes, I had meet him. Actually we attend the same high school for all 4 years. We were actually pretty great friends back then. But during our senior year we hit some bumps in the road. Sarah is dating his best friend and I'm surprised she didn't know Austin was needing a team. On the document it said that they needed lights and sound technicians, photographers, stylist, and even one back up dancer. Honestly, I was shocked that my boss took this request. He usually does not go after things like this. He likes keeping the people he has worked with for sometime. I really need to ask him about it.

Suddenly Evans speaks. "I was really interested in this request because I thought I could work out for some of y'all. Plus it would be a great experience, Rico and Austin has something big going and they seem like great people to work with. So just let me know if you are interested and I'll contact Rico. Meeting is now dismissed."

Everyone started packing up and pushing their chairs back into place. I slowly got up sill holding the documents when Evans called my name.

"Hey, Kayla would you mind staying a minute or two. I have something I would like to tell you."

Yeah, sure. Is everything okay? I asked.

"Yes, yes everything is fine. " Mr. Evans relied. "I just wanted to let you know that I do highly recommend you taking or even considering this job. I know it may seem like a lot. But I did mention you and the great work you've done and explained your situation. I hope you don't mind? But Rico did say that he could a range something for you if you accept."

"Ohhh wow. Umm okay. I'm going to need a day to process this and think about it. I'll give you a call and let you know. Thank you for doing that." I said.

"Sounds good. Have a good week Kayla." Mr. Evans said.

"Thank you! You too. Bye." I replied.

As I drove home I had lots on my mind. I had no clue on whether if not I would take the job. But I knew I needed to decide soon before it was taken.
