Winter's Dawn

Prologue

Sandstorm raced across the training hollow and stumbled through the forest as fast as she could. The snarls and thumps of bodies behind her became fainter as she got closer to the camp.
"Bluestar!" she cried. The ThunderClan leader turned and narrowed her eyes.
"Sandstorm, I don't have time-"
"This isn't a joke! ShadowClan is attacking! Spottedleaf, Brackenpaw and Cinderpaw are holding them off. Tigerclaw and Longtail are there too," she said quickly. Bluestar flicked her tail at Lionheart and Graystripe.
"Assemble the warriors, Lionheart. Graystripe and Sandstorm, let's go." Bluestar led the way to the training hollow. Sandstorm heard pawsteps behind her and turned to see Fireheart following. He met her gaze defiantly.
"I'm coming too," he said. Sandstorm sighed, exasperated, and dipped her head. They arrived at the hollow just as Spottedleaf was knocked to the ground. Sandstorm pelted across the open space as fast as she could. Clawface opened his jaws and lunged for Spottedleaf's throat. Sandstorm's heart seemed to fail her. She wasn't going to make it! A ginger blur raced past her and Clawface was shoved from Spottedleaf.

"Fireheart! Look out!" yowled Sandstorm. The tom turned and slashed his claws across Blackfoot's face. Sandstorm leapt to help Spottedleaf fight off Clawface. The brown tom fled and the she-cats exchanged a glance. 

"We make a good team," said Sandstorm. Spottedleaf nodded.

"Yeah we d- Fireheart! No!" Spottedleaf pelted past Sandstorm desperately as Brokenstar grinned and slammed his paws down onto Fireheart's head, rendering the tom unconscious. He lunged for Fireheart's throat and Sandstorm leapt to shove him away. Bluestar turned, saw Fireheart's limp body and snarled with rage at Brokenstar. Sandstorm stepped back as the gray she-cat clawed the ShadowClan leader ferociously.

I hope Fireheart is ok....
