Chapter 1
Planned Deceit
How do you lie to the one you love? It was wrong but necessary, this lie was the difference between my sanity and complete chaos. My promotion news to my fiancée should have been a joyous event, yet here I was in my car preparing for the biggest lie of our relationship.
We had a beautiful three bedroom home that we were renting in Nashville Tennessee. We were in talks to buy the home, but that would change as well. I balanced my box of belongings from the office, flowers, and phone as I dug into my khakis to find the house keys. I took a deep breath and entered the house.
“Here goes everything” I whispered as I twisted the silver door knob.
“Baby, is that you” her southern twang met me at the door.
Now the show was on. I revved myself up to sound excited.
“YEAH BABY, COME HERE I GOT SOME GOOD NEWS.” Hopefully that sounded convincing.
"Awww yeah. Well so do I." She said coming into the living room with nothing on but black heels. I had already put down the box from the office but seeing that jiggling peach ass and coconut breasts made me want to get my serving of fruit for the day.
She starred at me and gave a slight smirk before turning her peach to me and bending it over and bouncing it like a video vixen.
Placing the roses down on our coffee table I stood behind her to let her ass bounce on the crouch of my pants.
She only allowed that for a few seconds before turning around and tonguing me down. Her mouth always tasted so sweet, like candy almost. Butterscotch, caramel, or some kind of toffee flavor entered my mouth as we traded DNA.
One of the more intriguing things I noticed about her when we met our Junior year at TSU was that she tasted so good. That’s why I loved her. We were both business majors and ended up having a class together. Somehow we were partners for a class project and stayed up late one night working. One thing led to another and before I knew it I had my head between her caramel thighs sucking out all the goodness. I haven’t been able to get rid of her since.
“You got some good news” she said pulling back from me and smoothing her hair back down.
“BABY, I got a promotion. That Regional Manager position I told you that I applied for. I got it boo…WE got it!!!”
I said picking her up and swinging her around trying to throw her off with all the distractions. Instead I was getting distracted. I had her in my arms I might as well take her to the bedroom so that’s where we went. I laid her down slowly on the bed, but she was already asking questions.
“Oh My God Baby, really? Congratulations I knew you could do it. When do you change over and are you gonna still be downtown or do you get to go to the location near the airport.” Might as well tell her now.
“Naw, boo. Actually we gotta move to St. Louis. The position is there.” I said nonchalantly as I started taking off my tie and unbuttoning my white shirt.
She looked at me with the confusion of a toddler being showed calculus equations.
“Yeah, I thought that the job was going to be stationed here, but since they are having problems in the St. Louis market. They want me to go up there and manage since I’m from the area.”
“So you told them yes?”
“Yeah baby of course. Chloe this is a big ass promotion.”
“So, you make a big ass decision without consulting me?” She said mocking me and getting up from the bed and grabbing her robe from the back of the door. That let me know instantly that I wasn’t getting any ass tonight.
“Baby, I had to give them an answer immediately. I guess I got anxious and couldn’t help myself”
She glared at me like she was attempting to make me explode with her vision.
“How long do we have?” She asked
“Ummm…Sun-Sunday” I stuttered my lines and I knew that this performance was falling apart.
“SUNDAY, This Sunday. You want me to quit my job, pack up this house, and move by Sunday? That’s impossible.” She yelled placing her hands on her hips in protest.
“Well baby, I was thinking I would go up by myself for a few months until our lease is up. I’ll come back every weekend or you can come up there. But in the meantime I’ll find us a place in St. Louis so we can start our new chapter in our new home. When you come up you can quit your job and go back to school for your Master’s like we discussed.
Her eyebrows rose at that thought. She had been talking more and more about going back to school. While that wasn’t in my original plan it was a good last minute change to get her.
“Whatever you want to do Kevin, I’m just your fiancée, not your wife. I guess I don’t have a choice in the matter.” She said walking towards the room door. I grabbed her and tried to reason.
“Awww baby, don’t be like that. This is for the better of both of us. Look, tomorrow we can go shopping and discuss everything ok? I’ll take you up to Green Hills and let you get whatever you want.”
Now that was my wild card, her shopping addiction. I didn’t think that a girl from Knoxville would be so addicted to shopping, but she was worse than a damn R&B singer.
“Promise?” she asked as I saw her visibly soften up.
Her voice became light like a little girl and she started to blush. I knew that the allure of the Louis Vuitton Store and Tiffany & Company was too much for her to pass up no matter how pissed she was. I told her I promised, kissed her on the forehead and slapped her round ass. Her giggles filled our bedroom as we kissed again and my mouth filled with the sweet caramel taste that was all over her body.
“You hungry?” she asked in between kisses. “And I mean hungry for dinner” she said giggling again.
“Yeah, actually boo I am.” She was about to speak when my phone interrupted us. I fished my buzzing phone out of my pocket that was now ringing through the room.
I answered as Chloe began putting a robe on.
“Hey what up Tony.” I said answering my phone.
“Whadup man. Welcome back to the Lou.” Tony’s voice filled the room. Somehow my phone was automatically going to speakerphone.
“Hey man hold on.” I told Tony but he was too busy talking as usual to hear me.
“Yeah man I think your plan to wait and tell Chloe today was brilliant. These bitches worry too much. If you would have told her weeks ago when you got the job she would have drove you crazy.” I juggled the phone trying to turn off the speakerphone but I settled for just hanging up on him. But it was too late. Chloe had her hands on her hips and a frown across her face.
“What the fuck is he talking about weeks ago?” She heard it all. My cover had been blown.
Why did I answer the fucking phone?
“Chloe, I can explain boo?” Bu there was nothing to say. She slid her heels off leaving the
room and slamming the door behind her. The rose pedals she sprinkled on the floor flew up in my face from the gust of the door slam. Through the wooden door I heard her cursing and yelling as she slammed around pots in the kitchen. Damn Tony, and damn myself. I should have just kept my plan to myself.
