Shoes

Shoes
What a peculiar thing
They come in all shapes sizes and colours
Sometimes they get in the way
I trip over mine constantly
Some wear them to big events
And some just to the park
Some even wear them inside

They track mud
Get old
Start to stink
Get too small
The heel bends in
Shoes widen out
And sometimes the lasses even snap

We have Velcro and lasses
Straps and slip ons
Pull ons and zip ups
We have knee high and ankle high
Everyone has their favourite
I know I do

Some black
Some red
Some green
Some blue
Some even light up
Or have Dora on them

We have hiking shoes
And biking shoes
Street shoes
And dance shoes
I could go on
But it would take too long

Some make lots of noise
And some are made for sneaking around
We have winter boots and rain boots
Summer sandals and cowboy boots
Some have funny names like bobs Uggs and toms

Some are fuzzy
And some are soft
Some have patterns
And some are just to keep warm

Some shoes don't need socks
And some need a special kind
But socks is another poem
For another day
For now im just gonna stick to shoes.
