"I never meant to start a fire. But I was just a candle that was lit far too long."

"Please just call Scott McCall. All I need is to... uh- to talk to him about a personal family issue that concerns him!" I pleaded.

The principle of Beacon Hills wouldn't budge. His arms were folded around his chest as he leaned over the wooden desk, still expressing the same expression of disinterest. The man rubbed a temple as he sighed once more.

"Miss Nox, I don't think you understand that we have a strict visitor policy within this school in order to ensure the safety of not just the faculty-"

"-but to ensure the safety of our valued students." I mocked his words in an irritated fashion. I huffed loudly, rolling my eyes.

"He's literally my God-brother, so technically we're family! Do you guys not value family at all?!" I was fuming, I needed to talk to Scott about my family, right now.

"Miss Nox I refused once, and I will refuse you again. I will not allow a minor to have a visitor pass unless accompanied by an adult or proper identification. Now please, leave now before I have to call the sheriff down here!"

I clenched my jaw, ready to connect my fist with his face, but decided not to when realizing how precious time was and how I'd rather not spend that time waiting for someone to bail me out of a prison cell.

My hands pushed down on the chair launching me up aggressively. I stormed out the office.

I took my phone out of my pocket to check the time when my head collided with a cold metal locker. Why? Literally why did this have to happen now?

"Oh god!" A boy with a buzzcut looked down at me with wide eyes and his hands up to the sides of his head.

I rubbed my head and flashed an annoyed face.

"Yeah I'm alright. My fault, I wasn't watching were I was going" I replied in a rather rude tone as he helped me back on my feet.

His hands flailed in the air, "Do you need to go to the nurse? I can bring you there- unless you don't want me to- then I could just point you there. B-but if you want me to I could? Or not? W-whatever you choose I can deal-"

Does this boy ever shut up? It was like word vomit, it just kept spilling out of his mouth.

"No, no. It's fine. I'm not a student here anyway." I sighed, how am I going to find Scott? I have no idea where I'm going.

His eyes widened and his mouth formed an "o".

"Yeah I was looking for someone until, you know, I ran into your locker."

The student nervously chuckled and his hand rubbed the back of his neck.

"Well maybe I can help you! What's this person's name?" he raged with curiosity.

"Scott. Scott McCall."

His eyes trailed from my face to something behind me. His head moved frantically side to side in an effort to see clearly. Finally his head stopped moving but then his hand took over, waving frantically as to call someone over.
