                           Sadie's pov
It was a warm, sunny day in Clearwater, Florida just like any other day. It was almost the end of the school year. I'm graduating high school next Thursday. I'm kinda worried cause I don't know what I'm gonna do with my life once I'm done with school. I put my long, brown hair in my normal double braids and head to school.

After school

"Sadie!" My mom yelled, "There is mail for you!" There's mail for me? I only have one friend and the only other time I get mail if it's my birthday or Christmas. It was a really fancy looking letter. It was in a yellow envelope and there was a red stamp on the back. The outside didn't say who it was from. I think it's from the government. It said...

Dear Sadie Young,
We have some news for you. You can't tell anybody about this but your family. We have decided to do the Hunger Games. You are a tribute. This isn't any normal Hunger Games though. Instead of you winning and never going back in them. You are competing for a member One Direction or 5 Seconds of Summer. Instead of districts it's which boy from those bands Niall, Ashton, Luke, Harry, etc. You may wonder why. So here's the answer. There are too many females in the world right now and not enough men so if we used this idea and killed some of them there wouldn't be as many females. We traveled to England the to see if the One Direction boys were fine with the idea. They said they were. We also flew to Australia to see if the boys from 5 Seconds of Summer was ok with the idea too. They were. So what we ended up doing was looking through all the girls profiles in the United States, Australia Russia, the U.K., everywhere but South America and Mexico. They aren't competing. Since we are the government we know everything about you. So we were looking through the profiles and Niall Horan really liked your profile. So he choose you and a couple hundred other girls. You are competing for Niall Horan. There is a plane that will take you to Kansas, cause that's in the middle of the U.S., on Sunday at 8 am. Yes I was aware that when we sent this you would get it on Friday. You have 2 days to say goodbye to your family.

I was just picked for the Hunger Games. Niall Horan liked me. I still have questions like, Why did they decide to make us compete for One Direction and 5 Seconds of Summer?Won't they think we are crazy psycho killers cause we killed people for them? What if they meet me and don't like me? Why did 5sos and 1d agree to have other people killed for them?
"Sadie. What did the letter say?" My mom asked breaking my train of thought.
"Mom." I said very soft. "I was chosen for the Hunger Games. I leave on Sunday at 8 in the morning."
My moms face dropped. She thought it was a college acceptance letter. Which I really would've preferred.
"Why couldn't they wait till after you graduated?" My mom said on the verge of tears. "What if you don't come back? I can't lose you. Your brothers would have no idea what happened and it would be really hard to explain to them."
My mom was crying now and I was too.
"Mom. I'll be fine. I'm probably going to be the shortest one there so I can hide from everyone. I can also team up with 7 people and we can win together. I'm gonna win no matter what." I said as confident as possible.
"Well ok. You seem like you have a strategy. I don't want to watch you get killed." My mom said wiping the last of her tears.
"I'm not going to be killed." I told her. "I'm gonna win."
I walk upstairs to call my friend to tell her the news. She's more like a sister so she doesn't count. She also lives in California so I won't be able to see her one last time. I really hope she doesn't start crying over the phone cause once she cries I cries. When I got in my room my phone was already ringing it was my friend, Paige. Why did she call me?
