His lips melted into hers, and she tried to savour the feeling. The touch of his lips against hers, the way it felt, the way their lips united and became one.
Moments that seemed almost like centuries passed. Nick pulled back, and his deep, brown eyes held hers and she was captivated. Her body felt as light as a feather, and she imagined that with the swiftest breeze, she could fly far, far away.
"I-I-," she stammered with her hand pressed against her heart in order to regain a regular heartbeat.
"I think what you meant to say is, that this is amazing," he smirked whilst tracing the edges of her jawline, causing sparks of electricity to creep underneath her skin.
"I-I-," she repeated with a pale flush, masking her swooning face.
"Come on, I made us breakfast," he smiled graciously and took her hand in his so as to guide her to the home-cooked meal.
"I-I-," she squeaked and her heart was threatening to burst out of her chest, but she had to regain composure. So she planted her feet onto the solid floor, intertwined her fingers with his for support, and let him guide her.
Warm, home-cooked pancakes filled the air. And the tea that was set in the centre of the table caught her attention instantly.
As soon as Nick guided her to her seat, he dragged back the chair, indicating for her to be seated. Once she was securely on the chair, he pushed the chair slightly forward, just like a gentleman would.
Nick proceeded by sitting next to her, and he began to settle their meal. He forked a few pancakes and set them in front of her, and then began to prepare her tea the way she desired.
He balanced the handle of the teapot with his thumb, index finger and middle finger, tipped it over and the black, warm, steaming liquid poured out and splashed into the teacup. "How much sugar my lady?" His eyes shot up at her with question.
"Two please," she uttered almost a whisper.
"That's too much," he tusked under his breath but she could see him sneaking a smile with his dimples carved into crescent moons.
"Oh come on," she moaned and squinted her eyes at him.
"Fine, fine," he raised his eyebrows and dumped two sugar cubes into her tea, and as he swirled the teaspoon into the cup, causing clinking sounds, Celeste just couldn't bring herself to stop staring at him.
His brown hair that was usually slicked back was now falling in messy strands, and a few fell into his eyes. But just because his eyelashes were fused with his hair, the beautiful chocolate colour in his eyes still popped.
His eyes were identical to the moon that Celeste admired whenever she suffered through sleepless nights; the way his eyes twinkled reminded her of the dancing stars that shot through the sky, regardless of the darkness surrounding them.
"Here you go. Your tea, sweet just like you," he winked as he placed the tea in front of Celeste, who could feel heat rising up to her cheeks.
"Nick, I need to go back home," and just like that, the relaxed atmosphere that was created, destructed. Right then, and there. Cold air surrounded them both; Nick was left with his jaw hanging open apprehensively.
After a few moments of silence, Celeste broke the ice that was blocking communication between them. "I have no clothes." She stated. "I need to get some things. I need to sort my life out, even if I start off by just getting the basics. I'll just pop by and come back."
