Friday night...
Pluto POV
I walked up to Amund's doorstep, and combed my fingers through my short black hair. Amund and his brother Somnus were holding a party, and they invited almost everyone we knew. I was asked by Rhian, so I went along with it. Though I wasn't thrilled to go, I thought it wouldn't hurt to have some fun on a Friday.
I knocked on the door several times before it swung open. It was Rhian, my cousin who was about my age. She had long, wavy black hair and hazel eyes, and was a bit taller than me."Ready to have a bit of fun?" she asked looking me over. I did look messed up, I'll admit. She smiled and pulled me in by my jacket sleeve. "C'mon in, sleepy head," she laughed as I groaned quietly. When we went in, almost everyone we knew was in there. For a one floor house, it was incredible how they cramed all of these kids in there. As we passed through the immense crowd of teenagers, Rhian had to break up some couples from making out. I looked around the house for Amund or maybe Somnus, until I went to the guest room.
There sat Somnus with Maev, and a few others around. And in a small corner sat this small girl with medium, wavy magenta hair. She was rather cute, and had a round face and tan skin. She was hiding herself by staring down at her phone -it made me wonder why she came. I was called over by Rhian's annoying god-sister. Maev had red-dyed hair and brown eyes. Even if Rhian finds her aggravating at times, she's kind of forced to deal with her - meaning I have to tolerate her. I quietly walked over to them, keeping a straight face. Somnus waved lazily as he slouched in the sofa."What brings you here?" she asked. I couldn't help but feel uneasy at the question, not really knowing why. "Just thought I'd like to hang out...I've been pretty caught up in work," I spoke honestly. The Deity nodded slowly and motioned me to come closer.
"I saw you checking out that girl over there..." she whispered. I tensed up.
"Yeah...? Who is that anyway?" I asked keeping my voice low.
"Heard she's an Olympian, just like you..."she said. I looked back at the girl again. Was she expecting someone?
"Do you...know her name?" I whispered turning back to Maev. She chuckled wickedly.
"What, you want to talk to her or something?" she asked smiling, suggesting that I make a move or whatever.
I stood up straight, then looked at Somnus. The platinum haired Deity slept on the grey pillows. I looked back at Maev, who winked at me. I sighed quietly and made my way out of the room, looking at the pink haired girl one last time. She looked up at me, which caught me off guard. She had round, greenish-hazel eyes. I noticed her thick lips pull into a smile. I paused for a second, then I motioned for her to come to me. She looked confused, but she got up and came over to me anyway.
"What's your name?" I asked.
"Linda... "she spoke softly.
"Are you waiting for anyone?"
"Yeah, my friend Rose invited me but...I don't know where she is," she said looking into the hallway. I knew Rose, and I felt bad for her. Without saying anything, we left the room and went down the hallway as she followed closely behind.
"So what's your name?" she exclaimed over the raising music. I leaned in to her level so she can hear.
"Pluto."
"Oh, hi Pluto!" she called over the noise. As we passed through the crowd, I felt her grab onto my jacket, making me blush a little. Luckily, my black hair hid my face.
"SO WHERE'S ROSE?!" she yelled. I looked for her, only to see her making out with Marcus against a wall, then Rhian started yelling at them. I stared for a bit, not sure what to say.
"She's kinda busy right now, "I said to Linda, and at that moment she saw them too.
"Ok um...let's go find somewhere quieter," she said pulling me through the crowd. Once we reached the door, we quietly exited the house, trying not to be noticed.
For a moment I inhaled, breathing in the nightly fresh air. I looked back at her, and she was running her fingers through her pink strands. "It felt so trapped in there," she chuckled. I could hear her voice much better; it was slightly pitched with a Latin accent. I nodded. We looked at each other, our eyes meeting. It felt like time stopped momentarily.
Florinda POV
My heart skipped a beat as I took a look into those warm brown eyes of his. His black messy hair and pale skin made him seem ghostly. He barely had any facial hair, so he looked younger than he probably was. I could hear his soft breathing in the awkward silence surrounding us. Trying to bring myself to speak, it came out as a broken stutter.
"H-how old are you...?" I asked, and he looked off to the side.
"Seventeen..." he said. I nodded. He looked back at me like he was returning the question, and I said "Fifteen." He raised an eyebrow at me.
"Oh yeah?" Pluto asked with amusement in his voice. It's was so deep, goodness! "Rose and Diane suggested it...so I came along, thinking it'd be fun. But Rose had other plans and Diane never came," I confessed.
"Well are you ready to go?" he asked.
"What do you mean?"
"I'm just asking, in case you want a ride home or something," Pluto offered. This cute guy I just met is offering to take me home! I hesitated a bit and looked him over. Something in me said 'it's okay, you can trust him', as if my heart was dragging me to him. I lowered my face, feeling my hair fall forward a little. I felt so stupid. I sighed and shot my head up, which made his eyes widen a little.
"Yes, please," I answered.
He turned around. "Mkay, follow me," he said over his shoulder. I ran up next to him and we walked.
"So where's your house?" he asked walking around a corner.
"It's on Paris Street. Do you know where that is?"
"It's not that far from the school, right?"
"Yeah, I think so."
After a good minute, he approached a black and grey motorcycle. It looked like a classic, and very well kept. The seat was black leather and had a simple black helmet dangling from the handle bars. Pluto sat down and pulled a key from his grey hoodie. "T-this is yours?!" I asked baffled. He smirked and tossed me the helmet. Luckily I caught it (or it would've hit my nose), and looked at him worriedly. "Don't you need this?" I asked slowly. Pluto just shrugged and started the bike. "I'm more worried about your safety than my own, really," he admitted not looking at me. I wasn't sure whether to feel flattered or even more scared for him, but I stayed silent and put the helmet on. It's a little big on me, but whatever.
I sat behind him and waited for him to go. "What's wrong?" I asked. I could see him turn his head to glance at me. "You should hold on to me...so you won't fall off," Pluto said slowly. I felt heat rise to my face, thankful he could barely see my dumb expression! I nodded and did so, and the bike shook under us. Before I knew it, the bike moved forward and I felt my body go back a little. I let out a soft scream and clutched Pluto tighter. The next thing I knew, we were driving normally. As we went down the road, I was able to see the city better. It was bright and beautiful, and I could stare at it forever.
10 minutes later...
I hopped off Pluto's bike and looked at him, then he looked at me. "I've never seen you before, you new?" he asked. I nodded. "Olympian High, right?" I nodded once more. He gave a soft smile, as if it wasn't meant to be noticed at all. "Same here. Someone I know told me you're in the Olympian class...so am I," he trailed. I took the helmet off and gave it to him, which he grabbed and put on. As he started his bike again, I wanted to ask a question that was nagging at me.
"What god are you?" I asked. He looked into my eyes.
"...Hades." He spoke. My eyes went big and I blushed foolishly. I was with him the whole time? And he's hot?! I just couldn't help but smile big. "If I see you tomorrow, you can tell me yours," he said before he started moving. I waved to him and he nodded back, then drove down the road. I ran in my house, went upstairs and collapsed on my bed. Smiling, I texted Diane about my night and Pluto.
