nate + derek —
nate ;
nate and you were the quintessential example of a stereotypical couple in a fanfiction. nate was the bad boy, tattoos and all that. you had a flair for the violin, playing the instrument till you perfected every note and chord. you got good grades and were the perfect student. but inside, you always felt like you had something to prove. "babygirl?" nate called out. you put your violin down and walked to the living room of your shared apartment. "hey," you smiled, taking his laptop and stuff back to the "studio". "y/n I got it," he made me put it back down on the table. "why are you back so early nate?" you questioned.
"I wanted to tell you something and I hope you won't get mad if I tell you,"
"ya?"
"I don't think I'll be able to attend your recital on friday, y/n. I know it means—"
"oh that's fine nathan, it wasn't really that important anyway," you pushed past him and stormed back to your room.
—
you checked your appearance one last time in the mirror and exhaled. "another performance and he still ain't here huh?" your coach leaned against the door of your dressing room and sighed. you nodded, pushing another strand of hair behind your ear. "you got this y/n," she hugged you and you made your way on stage.
though the lights blinded you, you made out a familiar silhouette sitting in the front row. you paused for a moment, squinting your eyes slightly to make sure it was him. in his suit and tie, he leaned back and ran his fingers through his unusually quiffed hair. somehow I knew it was him. nate tried so hard to fit in with the rest of the audience. but the way he looked, the uneasiness in his eyes and the fact that he was only here for his princess, it was all him. the rest of the performances put him to sleep, no matter how difficult and grand their pieces sounded.
you smiled and picked up your bow, gently placing it on the strings of your violin. leaning inwards, you took a deep breath and started to play.
soon, locatelli's caprice in d major op. 3 no. 23 'Il labirinto armonico' filled up the room. it was a notoriously difficult piece to play, probably one of your best since you were so skilled. when you were done, most of the audience stood up and clapped. you smiled and took a bow. nate grinned at you from the audience and you laughed slightly.
"you did great babygirl," he kissed your forehead when you were backstage. "you told me you weren't coming," you put your arms around his neck and placed a gentle kiss on his cheek. "well, I wouldn't miss it for the world y/n. I'm so proud of you," he stated. "did you get this from the "my driver" video or did you just steal one from somewhere or what?"
"prolly stole it who knows," he winked.
"wait aren't you gonna get in trouble?"
"chill out baby nothing's gonna happen,"
"nathan what the fu-"
derek ;
"come the night you dim the lights and close the blinds," lynn gunn's voice flowed through the speakers in the arena. you sang along to the lyrics and clapped according to the beat. derek stood beside you and smiled in admiration at your reaction to hearing pvris live. "oh my gosh derek she's so perfect," you gushed, willing yourself not to tear up in front of your boyfriend because of lynn's perfection.
"you having fun mami?" he kissed your cheek. "yeah oh my god this is so unreal," you hugged his side. "I have no idea how you got tickets for this but thank you so fucking much," you hugged him tighter. "woah woah ma, I can't breathe,"
"derek how-"
"I know pvris is your favourite and you've always wanted to hear them so here, this is for you,"
"I love you so much luh, you're honestly the best thing that's ever happened to me," you put your hand on his cheek.
"except pvris," you added. he chuckled.
"just have fun babygirl,"
I was thinking about "if I stay" while writing nate's imagine and I was listening to white noise by pvris while doing derek's. anyways I miss the both of them together and I'm kinda tired so I hope y'all enjoyed the imagines :))
