Annabeth's POV

I slowly opened my eyes. I surprisingly got a good nights sleep, due to the fact that I was sleeping in some stranger's house. I sat up and looked around. Percy was sound asleep, and he was drooling. Figures.

Wait. Where the HECK was Faith?! Oh-no. Where was she? I jumped out of bed and shook Percy awake.

"Well, good morning Wise girl." Percy sat up.

"Percy. It's Faith. She's not here." I said, tears welling up in my eyes. Percy jumped out bed and ran out of the door. I was following behind him.

Percy's POV

When Annabeth said that Faith wasn't in the bedroom, my heart stopped. Something happened. Faith would be back by now. We suddenly reached the end of the hallway. I saw Faith lying on the floor, blood all around her. Annabeth clasped her hand over her mouth, bawling. She ran to Faith, and picked her up. All of a sudden, a boy came into the room. He was dressed in black. With black eyes, black hair, and black clothes.

"Get away from her. She doesn't need you." the boy said. I realized who it was. It was Caleb, son of Hecate.

"Dude, it's Caleb. Son of Hecate. AKA Faith's best friend." I whispered to Annabeth.

"What do you want?" I bellowed.

"What do I want? I want that little pest to die!" Caleb said, pointing a bony finger at the limp body which was once Faith, cackling.

"Annabeth, run. Get Faith in the car and drive to the hospital. I'll meet you there. This will only take a minute. " I assured Annabeth as she ran away. Caleb didn't move muscle.

"She's not going to make, Percy. No matter how hard you try. And you won't either." Caleb pulled out a dagger. I uncapped Riptide.

"And you won't either, nugget." I exclaimed, and dived in.

Within a span of 10 minutes, Caleb was a pile of ashes. I didn't want to tell Faith that Caleb had "died". I didn't really want to tell Annabeth either. But I headed to the hospital anyway.
