My mother looks at me with a blank expression. "Sweetie, I heard you got detention."

"Detention?" I ask, confused. When in the world did that happen?

"I have to take you to the school," She says, putting the plate down. "So be ready in 10."

"Alright," I reply, quickly putting up my dish, quietly fuming to myself.  When in the hell have I ever gotten detention? In fact, what the heck did I do to achieve that? I ignore that, going along with this punishment. I dart up the stairs, grabbing everything I would need to survive a long, hard day in a room. "This is so stupid." I say to myself, I am interrupted by my mother.

"Come down here, Autumn. It's time to leave." She says, already walking out towards the car. I run out to her, getting into the white car. It smelled wonderful, it felt wonderful too, the scent of the cool fall breeze rushed through my senses. The sky was clear, and leaves were falling. It was a beautiful sight, I stared out the window the whole drive to the school. the car shrieks to a stop, my mom turning back.

"I love you sweetie, I'll be back in a few hours." She smiled, then let me hop out. I hop out of the car, her driving off. It was quiet, the swings swaying creakily in the wind. The leaves fluttering across the sky and onto the ground. I start pacing towards the entrance, opening the door to the school. It was dead quiet. I start walking down the halls in search for where I need to go, but I couldn't find it. I make my way over to the office, a tall, blonde, arrogant woman sitting at the front desk, her sorta glaring at me.

"Oh, hello." She says, slightly annoyed that I was here. "What do you need?" She asks, looking back to her computer and then back to me.

"Er, I need to know where the detention room is." I reply, tensing up a tad.

"Oh, that's going to be in Mr. Harris's room." she replies, "Now go."

I nod, leaving and heading towards that hall. I could hear chatting and laughter coming from down the hall, and I walk in, everyone staring at me. It was an awkward feeling, and I shiver from it. I take a seat, and then everyone returns to chatting and laughing, Mr. Harris looking annoyed.
