An ode to friendship

Life is too short to be squandered in crying

Thats where friends enter to amend our living.

When the odds are stacked up and the way ahead seems hazy

Friends hold your hand and say, "Just follow me, you lazy!"

No matter how hard the bridge is, to traverse upon

Friends are your escorts you just choose and walk on.

When adolescence creeps in, and parents seem alien to you

You still have your friends, sailing in the same boat with you.

Though adulthood boasts of familiar ties and 'worldly' affairs,

Your 'cuttings' and bimonthly outings still demand your peers.

You have your adversities; others may be through a worse condition

Make as many friends as possible, its always a win-win situation.

Agreed, that the world is nasty; but keep probing for a sparkle in the heap

And be good, do good, abide by them; as you sow, so shall you reap.

Everybody faces hardships, everyone needs a friendly relationship.

So if you ever see a stranger besides you, never hesitate to extend a hand of friendship!
