Hello everyone, anyone and most likely no one. My name's Kayla Farris and welcome to the Farris-Wheel. I'm so excited that you're joining me today on this, my first blog! Why am I blogging, you ask? Well the answer is rather simple, I've had a major case of writer's block for quite some time.

Real quick, I wanted to tell you guys about this space I've created and its purpose. My intention is to sit at my computer and write something every couple of days. Nothing is off limits. I'll tell you about my day (good or bad), about my thoughts and opinions about certain topics, and just about anything that comes to mind (maybe a childhood memory that I would like to share). My intentions are to get back into writing and I encourage all of you to do the same. Enough about the blog itself, I would love for you guys to get to know me, in an attempt to make these words feel personal.

I have to start off by saying two things that you must know about me. I am a self-proclaimed dinosaur lover and my favorite movie is Jurassic Park. I can't recall a time when I didn't love dinosaurs. Everyone who has ever met me knows this to be true. If only you could see my car.

Ever since I was young, I've known that I wanted to be involved in the creative world. Throughout elementary school and junior high I wanted to be an actor, I felt that it was my passion and, because of this, I joined drama and was involved in two mediocre plays: A Christmas Carol (an eighth grade production) and Pride and Prejudice (a ninth grade production). I would rather not discuss my lack of a character name in my eighth grade play. However, I was very lucky in my last year of drama to play the eccentric Mrs. Bennett. What a blast that was. I'm not going to go into details about those performances but it was a dream come true. In my high school years, I began to fall in love with the idea of, perhaps, one day creating a story that others would find enjoyment in. And now, in my 20th year of existence, I have found even more creative passions. I absolutely love anything makeup and DIY. My point is, that even though I've grown older, I haven't changed.

Currently I am attending my local community college because of lack of funds to attend elsewhere. I am pursuing, I think, a bachelors in business and I have an amazing job that that provides opportunities for advancement in a business related environment. Although I love my job and the career possibilites, I have to wonder if that's where I should be. I half-jokingly told my parents that I was going to drop out of college and learn how to do special effects makeup and have yet to get a response from them.

If I'm going to be honest with you all, I should be doing my Calculus homework and not writing this post but school and homework bore me to death. I would much rather spend time with random folks on the interwebs.

What else do you all want to know about me? Lets see... I've never been on a date let alone have my first kiss. I get asked all the time about having a boyfriend from old coworkers, friends and family. It drives me insane. Mostly because, what I want most in life ties right into the whole boyfriend issue. I want to have someone by my side who loves me and who I love right back. I hope I don't have to wait too much longer. If you happen to be my soulmate, I'll be at home eating healthier and jumping on my trampoline.

I think that's a pretty good foundation to begin our writer/reader relationship. I hope that you all will continue to come back and get to know me so we can be friends. You can never have too many friends on the interwebs. That's all I got for now. I hope you all enjoyed your ride on the Farris-Wheel.
