*sigh*

Its just one of those nights again. My mind on its own, not letting me go to sleep. I wouldn't really complain about it because my mind is a better place than the horrid world out there.

I loved the night, the only time my mind could escape and make a world of its own, according to my fantasy - a world of impossible.

I got up from my bed. I looked over the window and I saw the fullness of the full moon. The beautiful silhouette of the moon, fit perfectly in the evening sky.The clouds scarfed the moon, making it look like it wore a fluffed cardigan. The bright moonlight illuminated the whole room, and everything in the room emitted a shadow.

Tonight was a special night. The atmosphere had a different turn to it. I walked over to the window and pushed it open. The wind rushed in, eager to enter the room. Through the force, the curtains were pushed and swung from side to side. The wind brushed my face, almost as if it gave me a gentle kiss on my cheek. My hair was ruffled but not tangled. It calmed down but it didn't stop. I could hear the rustling of the leaves from a nearby tree, the crickets holding their own symphony at the ground below. I propped myself up the window pane and climbed out of my room, on to the roof.

I wish every night would be just like this.

It was just a wish.

I brought my knees to my chest and sat on the roof, engulfing myself to the serenity of the night. At the height I was on, I glanced over the neighborhood.

Everyone seems to be sound asleep.

The quietness was so relaxing. Not dead quiet, but tranquil. I stretched my legs out and wriggled my toes. I laid back and rest my hands on my chest, intertwining my fingers.

Twinkle twinkle little star,

how I wonder what you are.

Up above the world so high,

like a diamond in the sky...

The blanket of stars was so lovely. So high up in the sky, they added an elegance to the dark sky with their sparkle. I liked it. My eyes were filled with adoration as I speculate to their own artistry. I don't need to see any constellations to admire the evening sky. They were already an art itself.

I breathed in the delicate air, exhaling a fog instead. The cold ambience made me slip into a gentle slumber.

Back and forth, back and forth as I swung myself. The swing was covered with blooming spring flowers, the softness of the pink on their petals gave a sweet and mellow aura. Panning my surroundings, all I could see was a forest. But not just any kind of forest. The plants seemed to have just awakened from the long nights of winter, blossoming like it was the season of spring. The grass had dew on them, making them glistened to the rays of sunlight that shone upon them. As morning wind blew, birds suddenly emerged from the trees. They chirped in pure harmony, like a gentle wake up call for the rest of the animals in the forest. The clouds looked majestic and took hold of the sky, as if they were kings. The wonderful grandeur of this panorama just left me amazed, no word can describe its delightful character that it brings forth. All of a sudden, the sunlight became too bright and I shielded my eyes. I stopped swinging and I used both of my hands to shun the brightening ray of light.

My eyelids fluttered at the bright light. As I opened my eyes, the sun was peeking at the horizon and I realized that it was dawn. I sighed for the last time as the night was finally gone. My mind set on default; reality was at hand. So I mustered up my strength that the new day had provided and sat up, leaning on my arms that were propped behind me. I climbed down the roof and entered my room through the window. I closed it and drew the curtains back to let the light in my bedroom. The darkness of the evening sky drew back as the sun took its place again.

I wished it lasted longer though...

The dream last night lingered in my mind until the smell of freshly brewed coffee filled my nostrils.

Mum and dad should be awake by now.

I glanced over the clock right beside my bed.

0600

I yawned. Stretching my arms as far as I could. I went to my bed and folded my blanket and fluffed my pillows.

Grrrr...

My stomach grumbled so loudly it startled me. I giggled. I patted my stomach as if it was a pet wanting to be fed.

I looked at the bright blue sky for the last time before I headed downstairs.

I can't wait for what the night beholds for this day.
