Introduction.

I never thought in a million years I'd have secret powers, and I never thought that when I turned 16, I'd get them. Who knew anyone could possess supernatural powers, but I gain the best of them, I went from a worthless nobody, to a- what some call- super hot teenager. But everything changed on my 16th Birthday, October 31st.

Chapter 1.

I wake up at 5:45 this Friday morning, my 16th birthday, I'm very excited, but for some odd reason my whole body feels sore. But I take some painkillers and start my day by getting dressed. Once I'm finished, I brush my teeth, do my hair, grab my stuff and I'm out the door. I'm an only child, so I don't have to worry about driving a sibling to school. Yes, I have my license, where I live, you're able to get them when you're fifteen and a half. Oh, shit. I just started my period. Really? The day before my birthday?! Screw you reproductive system! "Oh well," I say to myself. "I'll still be able to get through the day."

I start my car, it's now 7:10. "Jesus, I should be at school by now." Sure, classes start at 7:38, but I still like to get there early, it makes me feel safer, and more prepared. I drive to school, it's about a 10 minute drive. When I arrive there are already two buses in the driveway. I pull into the student parking, and rush into the school. I go to my locker, some of my friends are already here.

"Hey, Tandori. It's the big 1, 6! Happy Birthday" My friend Angela says.

"Yeah, if only I hadn't started my period this morning." I reply, moody.

"Oh, dear. I'm sorry hon'." She says. "Well, if it makes you feel any better, your crush Zach, was asking about you." She says, with a questionable smile.

"What'd you do Ange?" I ask.

"Why do you think I did something? Honestly, he was asking about you." As she said that our other friend Courtney walked up.

"Who are we talking about? Zach?" Courtney asks. "Happy Birthday!"

"Yup!" Angela says with a huge smile.

"Dude, go talk to him! I just saw him at his locker!" Courtney says to me.

"Would you guys just stop. Zach would never be into a girl like me."

"That's so cliche, Tandi." Courtney says.

"Hey, your skin looks flawless this morning. It's like glowing." Angela says.

"Really?" I ask. "Well I'm not complaining." I've always had bad achene. A lot of things have been changing the past few days, and I've noticed a lot of them this morning.

The bell rings. "Well I'll see you guys later." I tell my friends. We walk our separate ways. I walk to first period, my crush, Zach sits right by me.

"Hey, Tandori, right?" He asks me. I get all excited, my friends were telling the truth.

"U-h, yeah. That's me." I say with a smile. He looks at me and smiles back. My heart is practically in my stomach right now. I'm sure my eyes are dialated, I probably look so dorky as I'm fangirling over this guy.

"I was wondering..." He starts.

"Yes?"

"If you wanted to do my homework?" And there it is, the knife in my heart. Of course a guy like Zach Wilson would never want to date me. "I've just been so swamped with all of my school work and football." He finishes.

"Yeah, sure Zach."

"Thanks! You're a lifesaver, Tandi!." Well at least he used my nickname, that's a good sign, right?
