The Flowers

Emma pov
I gave a small yawn as I woke up, it's morning already? Where's Nessie? "Ness? You awake?"

"Yeah. I'm downstairs with daddy."

"Ok." I smiled and stood up in my crib, I need someone to get me out... "Mommy!" She was in the room instantly. I made grabby hands at her and she smiled at me.

"Good morning, sweetie."

"Good mornin, mama." She picked me up, walking over to my dresser. "Can we go downstairs?"

"After we get you dressed." I nodded. She pulled out an adorable denim dress and I squealed. She chuckled, probably cause Ness and I are so different in that regard. Nessie absolutely HATES dresses, while I, on the other hand, love them.

She pulled out a cute bracelet and a necklace to match. I smiled as she put them on, before spotting a bow to my right. I turned and grabbed it, putting it in the back of my hair before giving mommy a thumbs up.

We went downstairs, straight to the living room where literally everyone was. Daddy smiled at us and came over to kiss my forehead and take me from mommy.

"Aren't you looking adorable?" I blushed, to which he chuckled and sat down with me on his lap. I hugged him for a few moments before I heard my name.

"Emmy!" I turned to see Ness reaching for me, so I did the same.

"Nessie!" Daddy smiled and put me down next to her. I pulled her into a hug as we both giggled.

We started playing with our toys while the grown-up's we're talking about something. I don't know what it was but it sounded boring. I had a relaxed smile on my face as I turned to look out the window. We hadn't really gone outside much as we were only about a week old. The only times we had gone outside were when we were going to or from the cottage.

"Hey, Ness?" She turned to look to me.

"Yeah, Em?" I pointed out the window.

"I wanna go outside." She nodded in agreement, staring out the window as well.

"I wonder what it's like."

I turned around to look at daddy, "Daddy? Can we go outside?"

He smiled, "Sure, we got to get your shoes on though."

We walked outside with mommy and daddy at our sides, I smiled as I walked over to a flower patch, they were beautiful. I took a deep breath and smelt the different flowers as the scents mixed together. I walked through the flowers, some of them brushing against my fingertips. I stopped as a certain flower caught my eye. It was a mix of pink and purple and it looked like it was glowing.

"Ness!" I called as she ran over.

"What is-Whoa that's a pretty flower." She whispered in awe, I nodded in agreement.

"Isn't it?" I smiled.

"What're you two looking at?"

"Look, mommy! Isn't it beautiful?" I pointed to the flower as a smile grew on her face.

"It sure is." She knelt down next to us, admiring the flower as I looked around for any more.

I stopped as I spotted another one a foot or two away from Nessie. "Another one!" It was similar to the one I saw earlier except it was red and yellow. It reminded me of fire, which reminded me of Nessie.

"One for each of you." Mommy smiled.

We dug up the flowers carefully as to not harm them, and went inside to get vases. I put mine in a white vase that had a gold E on the front of it and Nessie's was in a black vase that had a silver R on the front. We brought them inside and put them on the window sill in the living room.

"Aunt Rosie!" I called as she immediately sped into the room.

"Yes?"

"Look at the flowers Ness and I found! The purple one is mine and the red one is Nessie's. Aren't they gorgeous?" I smiled brightly, to which she returned.

"Yes, they are quite exquisite. Just like you and Nessie."

I blushed, "Thank you."

A little while later, Ness and I ate dinner and went into the living room to the rest of the family. I sat down next to daddy and laid my head against him. Today was a long day and I was tuckered out. I looked over to our new flowers and let out a small yawn as I thought the day over.

"Looks like someones tired." Daddy smiled at me and I gave a sleepy smile in return. Nessie yawned a couple second later.

"Ok, time for bed you two." Mommy smiled as she picked up Nessie, daddy pulled me into his arms as we headed out the door. I let my head rest on his shoulder as I wrapped my arms around his neck, letting out another yawn.

"Hold on tight." We sped off to the cottage, mommy and daddy walking to our rooms with us.

Daddy helped me get changed into some cute pj's and laid me down in my crib, which I'm starting to get too big for. He kissed my forehead gently and started walking away.

"Bun-bun?" He stopped and smiled as he grabbed me stuffed bunny that I adored with all my heart. He came over and handed her to me as I smiled and clutched her close. "Sweet dreams, princess." Daddy turned off the lights and left the room.

"Night, Ness."

"Night, Em." I closed my eyes and let sleep quickly take over.

Chapter done! I might rewrite another one tonight but I have to rewrite a couple chapters on my other stories so I don't know if I'll get around to it.
