First Kiss

The thought of the upcoming date made you just as much happy as it made you nervous. One moment you were ecstatic, the next, you were fidgeting over what to wear. You were a mess. You thanked all higher powers for your friends who helped get prepared for the date. You have no idea where he was going to take you since all he said was to dress nicely. So dress nicely, you did. You had both agreed on meeting at the dorm gates at 5 and then continue from there. So you stepped out and walked towards the gates with equal amounts of joy and nervousness.
He was standing there, looking like a model who just stepped out of a catalogue. He looked like a bad boy, someone you never want to mess with. But you knew how much of a bad boy he truly was. That thought made you giggle a little. As soon as he saw you, he broke out into his signature smile and started walking towards you. You could see everyone admiring him, but his eyes were only on you. You felt a sense of victory flow through you. 'That's right people, he's here for me!' You walked and met him halfway.
"Ready to have the time of your life?" He asked with mirth in his eyes. "We shall see about that. Lead the way, Your Highness." He laughed at that, "let's go peasant!" He held your hand lightly and you both started walking. Your heart beats increased with the feel of his hand in yours. You hoped he didn't notice how hard your heart was trying to jump out of your chest. That won't be a nice sight but now was not the time to think of that..
After taking a train and a bus, you finally arrived in front of a building, which was no doubt the well known aquarium in the city. You had heard about its large variety of sea life and always wanted to visit it at least once. He took you to an aquarium for your first date. It was so adorable thing to do. You wanted to hug and kiss him right then and there. But you held back and gave him an excited smile instead. He returned your smile with just as much excitement. You headed inside for buying tickets. He, of course, paid for the tickets, ignoring your protests.
Once inside, it was like your inner child had broke free. You dragged him to all the tanks one by one and gushing about the tank's residents. He followed you without a single protest and even joined you in your excitement. After a lot of walking around, you ended up at a largest tank and were instantly mesmerised with all the colours that graced the fishes. "So pretty.." You whispered. You heard a breathy "yeah" from him, making you turn around. You blushed when you realised he wasn't talking about the fishes. He was looking at you like you were the best thing that ever happened to him. He smiled bashfully at being caught and actually looked at the tank.
You spent a lot of time at the aquarium. You would have spent some more, but he told you that it was time to go cause he had something else planned. That something else turned out to be a dinner reservation at a restaurant. He had chosen the perfect one cause the restaurant had a setting fit for a date. It was dimly lit but with enough light to see clearly, with a violin playing somewhere. Being the gentleman that he was, he pulled your chair for you. You both ordered food and started talking about all the creatures that you saw. There was not a single moment of awkwardness with him. Conversation flowed, interrupted only by the arrival of food. And of course, you both couldn't keep the smiles off of your face. He made you laugh a lot with his antics. Seemed like he just couldn't get enough of your laugh.
The dinner went on without any hitch. You were happy spending so much time with him. You felt like no matter how much time you spend with him, it will never be enough. And with each passing moment, you were falling harder for him. (If only you knew that he was falling just as harder for you..)
After dinner, you took the bus and train back to your area. You knew you'd never get over how he would stand protectively over you during the bus and train rides. (You felt warmth just thinking about it.) After getting off the train, you both walked towards your dorms, hand in hand. It was just you two on the street since it was already night. Suddenly, he stopped. You looked at him, confused. Out of nowhere, he started singing 'Only you' by Elvis Presley. You were not only surprised by the singing but also his heavenly voice. And the fact that he was singing for you made you lose your breath. He looked at you with so much love in his eyes that you wondered if this was a dream. (The thought of pinching yourself crossed your mind.)
He sang for you all the way to your dorms and stopped when you reached. You looked at him saying, "this is the end, I guess?" "Hmmm.." You didn't want it to end and neither did he. He seemed nervous for a moment, "c-can I kiss you?" Now you were nervous too. "Yeah.." You blushed a little but arched forward to kiss him. He met you halfway and kissed you. The kiss was sweet and gentle and reminded you of all the good things in the world. His soft lips fit perfectly with yours. You both stayed like that, just kissing each other. And then the kiss ended. You both blushed from the kiss. The feeling still lingered though.
You looked at him and wondered if this was what love felt like. If it was, you wouldn't mind falling in love with him again and again. You felt lucky knowing he chose you of all people. You were glad that you met him. (So happy, you almost considered building a monument for the chocolate cakes who were a key element in your meeting.)
Your story wouldn't seem anything  special to others. There were no major incidents, no separation and no vengeful exes. Just two people falling for each other over chocolate cakes and milkshakes. But that didn't make it any less important. Cause this is your story. The story of how you met the most wonderful person while on a quest for cakes.
