Military father

The deadly winds blow from the angry sea

I know your over there and not with me

You pull the trigger with a mighty rage

Knowing that your son is a different age

There's no more whispers in the night

There's no more "daddy I love you goodnight"

All I ever hear is tears weep from his eyes

I know only the truth and not these lies

He's turning eight in just a few days

On his report card you can see all A's

He's growing up John to be a man

I wish you were here to understand

Guide him and to even hold his hand

He's not your little boy that you left

I accuse the military of horrible theft

Your life has been taken away to heaven

And your little boy is just the age of seven

He says come home daddy every day

But I have to tell him it's not that way....
