▶ 06. JUST LIKE WE USED TO

ross' pov //

                                                                                                                  I got out my phone to text Laura. I had to meet up with her and make the most of the time I had here to see her. I can't not at least make the effort, I would hate myself forever by missing this chance to rekindle our friendship.

"Hey, do you wanna meet at the top of the hill near you around 10sh? We can watch the stars like we used too xxxx"

She quickly text back "See you then! xxxx"  I smiled at the fact of how quickly she replied.

I was able to kill time until I was supposed to meet Laura. I made sure that I looked my best (obviously not going too overboard) and sprayed on some Hollister aftershave before leaving, because I knew that was Laura's favourite.

"Where you going?" Asked Rydel.

"Out." And I left before anyone could ask any more questions.

I got to the top of the hill and waited for Laura. She came and she looked... Stunning.

"Hey Laura."

"Hey." She smiled, her smile is so beautiful. We both laid down next to each other and looked up at the stars talking, just like we used too.

"So Zayn's okay with you coming out this late to see a guy that he doesn't even know?" I needed to get information out of Laura.

"I told him I went to see mum and dad, he would have freaked otherwise." Okay, we're getting there.

"Why would he have freaked?" She started to say something but quickly replaced it with a simple

"Look, it doesn't matter."

"Tell me." Her cheeks automatically turned a bright shade of red.

"Okay, well uhm.. When I first came to England, I was feeling homesick and I was starting to miss a lot of people, especially you..." Now I started blushing.

"He was there to listen to me blab on about nonsense and he was always there for me. I think I talked about you enough that he probably thought I had... Feelings for you. Which is why he'd probably disapprove of us meeting here now."

"Was he right?"

"What?"

"Did you have... Feelings for me?" I could feel myself smiling. Laura laughed and put her head in her hands for a minute to hide her bright pink face.

"Look, can we talk about something els?" Her rapid need to change the subject was an obvious yes. Wow, Laura used to like me? I quickly felt myself frown at the word.. 'used'.

"Hey, do you remember when we used to sit here under the stars just talking about god knows what, naming them all after people and describing why we picked that star?" I asked.

"Oh yeah, like, when we called one of them 'Josh' because he used to be the most arrogant person in the world and that star like overshadowed the rest every night?" We both just laid there laughing at each others jokes and just began talking so normally that it was like we hadn't just spent these four years apart.

"Oh, do you remember when we came up Goldbury Hill with your brothers sometimes and we used to play dares and they always dared you to kiss me if you couldn't catch me running up and down the hill once?" Yeah, I remembered that.

"Yeah, lucky I was a fast runner."

"Oh please, if you knew your brothers wouldn't have taken the piss out of you for centuries after purposely not catching me, you so would have played it slow."

"What makes you that sure?"

"I just am."

"You suggesting I liked you?"

"Did you?" Okay, I must have been beetroot by this point and I think Laura noticed because she laughed and quickly said "Yeah, this is always the best time to change the subject." I started laughing for a minute as well, but I soon got distracted. I began studying her features. First her eyes shimmering in the moonlight, her hair falling just perfectly and then her smile. Beautiful. Before I could even stop myself, I began to lean in.

"Ross, what are you doing?" She whispered, looking into my eyes. We were centimetres apart, I began to become aware of our closeness when I could feel her breathing was hot against my lips. I slowly began to close the gap by brushing my lips with hers. But just in just a matter of seconds, I felt her pull away.

"Ross, I can't do this." The next moment, she was gone.

A/N: :O don't worry if you think like 'omg, they're already together? That was quick.' cause no, they're not;) I am so sorry that it took me forever to update!! I've just been so caught up with so much homework& revision that it's unbelievable:( I am sorry this chapter was kind of suckish, I tried to do it like 50 times but settled for this since I know you guys were probably getting a bit pissed that I hadn't updated, so yeah - sorry:/ I might be updating a little slower now. I'll probably go through phases of updating a lot& then taking a little longer depending on how much stuff I have to do. I'm sorry about that but I hope you guys understand that I have so much school work:( Also, thank you guys so much for 500 reads!& also to @allaboutraura for getting me to 500:D I'm aiming for 1000 on the next fre chapters;) You guys probably don't even read these really long authors notes but hey ho, Ima right them anyway;D Also, I didn't proof read so sorry for any mistakes:/ As always; anyway to get me noticed or tell your friends/followers are much appreciated:D  Comment, follow&vote as usual!  Also, major drama coming up in the next chapter or next few!:O Thanks Guys.
