"Buzz, buzz," one of the phones inside the spacious gondola began to go off. I pulled mine out to check if it was mine, but it was not.
I looked over my shoulder to see Noah chatting away on his phone that had apparently been buzing. He did not have the happy and cheerful expression on his face I had been so fond of on the ride up, instead it had been replaced with a deep scowl.
Once he ended his call, I pranced over to Noah and attempted to confront him about his sudden change in mood. "What happened?" I asked, unfortunately for me it came out as a plead.
"Oh, its just my mates..." He looked down in regret. "They said I'm taking to long and are just about to head down the mountain." Who in their right mind would ditch an Olympic snowboarder to go snowboarding? It would be like the coolest exsperince ever!
It took me a moment to come up with a solution, but when I did I practically banged my head against the pole nearly three feet away from me for being such an itiot. "Why don't you just come boarding with us?" I questioned. "I know we are no Olympians, but we putt-putt down the hill pretty well..."
I received a reaction that I never could've imagined getting from such a significant athlete, thankfulness. His eyes immediately shot up to mine and were no longer filled with sadness, but with joy. An oversized grin appeared on his face and he began to shake his head intently.
"What douche bags..." I muttered to Noah.
A few moments later the lights began to flicker on and off once again, and with another sudden jolt the gondola was on its way back up the mountain.
In what felt like no time at all we were being dropped off at the top of the mountain in a bright, beautiful area. The peak was filled with eager skiers and snowboarders who made their way to the many runs that began up here.
Once we all stepped out of the gondola
Noah stepped in front of me, forcing me to stop in my tracks. "They really aren't douche bags," he answered defensively. "It's just that, um... It's just that Cam has a little bit of a problem..." I sent a curious look his way, which in return I received a long and very loud sigh. "How do I say this nicely?" He questioned himself, as he paused for a moment while he tapped his index finger quizzically on his chin. "Well... He has...Um... A short attention span, and well... He like girls... TOO MUCH." He said, raising an eyedrow as if to ask 'did I give you the right answer?' I couldn't help but chuckle at his poor attempt to call his friend something 'nice', but who am I to judge.

Denny, Riley, A.J, Noah and I all stood at the top of the ski run, waiting for one of us to give the 'all good.' I glanced up to see Noah looking down at me with his big green eyes that seemed to stare directly into my sole, but I wasn't complaining. 'What?' I mouthed silently, making him quickly reajust his gaze forward. I could feel my cheeks beginning to warm up as I blushed. I just couldn't help it, no one had ever looked at me like a person looks at a puppy in a shop window before.Without giving any notice, I swiftly turned towards the ski run, pushing myself off the small mound that we had been stationed on for the past fifteen minutes in order to counseal my cheeks, that I imagined had to look embarrassingly rosy. "You coming?" I yelled back to my buddies sarcasticly.
I could see Noah push off first, while everyone else followed, out of the corner of my eye as I slowed down to allow them to catch up.
"Race you to the bottom?" I asked childishly when they all reached me.
"Do you really think that you can beat me?" Noah asked condescendingly, a smug and oversized grin on his face. I imagined it was plastered there because he believed he couldn't lose.
"Ha, believe?" I questioned just as smugly as he did. "I know."
"Prove it," he dared, as he sped faster down the ski run, but not before doing a small backflip off a small, nearby ramp.
"Showoff," I grumbled to myself, as I sped up to pass him. I zoomed past the the abnoxious pain in the ass, giving me an ultimate feeling of triumph as the bottom of the ski lift came into sight, victory! I picked up my speed even more, just incase he was right on my tale which, naturally, I assumed. I was more than surpirsed to look back and see him completly gone, nowhere to been seen, missing in action, vaperized off the face of earth... My thoughts were interupted by a dark shadow passing over top of me. I looked up to see Noah grinning down at me from the sky. Jackass!
Once he landed his flip OVER TOP OF ME he contued to soar down the hill with me just on his tail, but my plans did not involve losing.
At the last seccond I bent down even more to captured the slightest amount of speed. I eyed my competitor who was nearly matching me in speed, the two of us were neck and neck.
As I seized the last ounce of speed possible, my gaze flitted back and forth between Noah and the finish line, which was not even three meters away. Noah's face was like nothing I had ever seen before. His gaze never strayed from the finish line, and his facial expression was so focused and stern. I couldn't help but watch as his jaw clenched every once and a while, making chills run down my spine. His posture was absolutely perfect, he was pro material at it's finest! And to say I was turned on would be more than a slight understatement.
My thoughts were cut off surprisingly by the feeling of my face hitting the soft powdery snow below. Shit! I quickly flipped over (not exceedingly gracefully I might add) and uncliped my buckles, after realizing I had bailed right in front of the finishline, cursing to myself the enire time...
Noah quickly ran over and kneeled down beside me, having noticed the fact that I had fallen after unstrapping his buckles. "Are you alright?" He asked, his voice lined with fear and worry as he carefuly examined me for bumps and brusies.
"I'm fine... I'm fine" I muttered defensively under my breath, finally standing up with my board in hand. Why the hell did I ever think I could win? He's a damn Olympian... I'm so stupid... And I had to bail right in front of him? Shit! I thought to myself as I started to walk away, angrily face-palming my forehead. Also beginning to look for the spot where I had promised to meet my friends, even though they were most likely still near the top of the mountain with Riley.
Suddenly he ran up to me and jently grabbed my shoulder, pulling me around so I was facing him. "I'm serious." he said, his eyes filled to the brim with fear, shocking into silence. "A.r.e y.o.u a.l.r.i.g.h.t?" He asked, dragging out every syllable, as if he was talking to a three year old. Which, admittedly, pissed me off a bit.
I pushed his hands off my shoulders in annoyance, "I'm serious too Noah... I'm fine!" I shouted just a little louder than I mention to, storming into a small empty building at the bottom of the runs.
Noah jogged lightly to catch up with me once again. "No." he demanded, once again placing his hands aggravatingly on my shoulders. "No your NOT!" His voice rose abrasively to meet mine. Without waiting for me to respond he gently swiped his fingers across my forehead. I watched him inhale sharply, then curiously followed his gaze down to his hands, and saw that they were dripping red.
How the hell could I be bleeding! I didn't even have that bad of a tumble, did I? My mind started swirling in every direction, then suddenly and without warning I was thrown into darkness.
