Alan's POV
I looked at my teacher, trying not to be irritated when she told me about tutoring someone. I didn't want to tutor anything when I had my own grades to worry about. I had my own life to worry about. I had more important things to think and worry about.
"So can you tutor him?" Mrs. Snodgrass asked.
"I guess so. I mean-"
"Great! How does every Tuesdays sound for you?"
"I mean I g-"
"Lovely! Next Tuesday after school you and Kellin will get together and study away."
I sighed, "Okay."
"Lovely!" She said clapping her hands together, "Okay, not run along home you got a lot of homework again."
I nodded and left the classroom heading out to the car where my mom was waiting. I so wasn't looking forward to tutoring someone. Especially not Kellin Bostwick.
This kid was just a fool and a totally idiot. He and his stupid friend never took anything seriously, they were like, the stupid class clowns.
I got in the car and slammed the door shut behind me.
"Hi Mom," I said, throwing my bag down.
"Hi Honey, rough day?" She asked as she started driving us home.
"I got stuck tutoring some stupid kid."
"Oh well, that could be good for you. And don't call someone stupid because they're not as intelligent as you are."
"Mom."
"Alan."
"He's an idiot and a class clown and I don't wanna tutor him."
"This will look good on college applications."
"But..."
"No buts, this is perfect. You'll get into more colleges and maybe get more scholarships with this."
I sighed, "You're right, you're right."
"I'm always right."
"Did my letter from dad come yet?" I asked.
"Not yet."
"Think it'll come soon?"
"He said it would."
"Have you talked with him?"
"He called me last night," she assured me.
"Why didn't I get to talk with him?" I whined.
"You were in bed when he called and I didn't want to wake you."
"You could have woken me up. I haven't talked to him in forever."
"He said he'd call again today so I'll let you talk to him then."
I smiled, "Good 'cause I miss him."
"I know you do, sweetie."
"Think he'll get out soon?" I asked, with hope.
"Well, maybe if he gets off with good behavior."
"I hope he does."
"I do too."
"You still love dad, right?"
"Of course I do, I've never stopped loving him."
"Can we go visit him again soon?"
"We'll try to."
