The night was still and silent, except for the babbling drunk in the tavern and street below.
Olivia had been perched atop an abandoned apartment block for the past three hours waiting for her target to emerge. She was dressed in her black cloak that devoured all light and her pitch black fabric armour suit with two swords strapped to her back and an assortment of daggers strapped to her hips, thighs, ankles and in the ligning of her cloak.
The door to the tavern flung open making the street fill with the merry shouts of drunken sailors, merchants and towns folk. A hooded figure stood in the doorway scanning the street before it emerged and moved toward the main road.
Olivia moved from her spot and tracked her target down the street. She got to the end of the apartment block and quickly shimmied down a drain pipe to follow on foot. Her feet hit the ground near silent as she set off to follow the hooded figure.

She followed the figure for hours. Turning down every back alley and street until the figure came to a stop. She hid in the shadows while she monitored him. While she had tracked the figure she had discovered her target to be a man, which was useful considering all she had been told before her mission was, monitor and follow a secretive hooded figure who will be at the Broken Mast tavern tonight at ten. It had taken six hours for her to follow, monitor and track the man and she was getting bored.
The man knelt on the ground in the empty alley and lifted a sewer cover. Keeping to the shadows she watched as the figure scanned the street and quickly climbed in.
Olivia waited a minute before quietly creeping from the shadows not making a single sound as she approached where the man had vanished down the opening. She was about to kneel when she heard someone behind her, then felt the cold kiss of a knife get pressed against her neck.
'Aren't you a little young to be roaming the streets at this hour?'
'Would you believe me if I said I was lost.'
'It's a shame really. I thought assassins were better than this.' He said with a huffed laugh that rumbled through his chest.
'Yeah well you're not to good at tricking people are ya. I saw you come out of the other sewer entrance.' She said as a grin crept onto her face.
'Oh really now.' He grumbled pushing the knife harder into her neck.
'Yeah, you know. It's not my fault you're not the sharpest tool in the shed, but then again we all have our moments.' He pushed the knife even harder and she felt the warm trickle of blood slide down her neck.
'Do you really plan to aggravate me while I have a knife to your throat?' She felt his warm breath as he whispered into her ear.
Olivia clicked her tongue. 'You see mister, I don't quite think you're in a position to ask questions. So why don't you let me go, now.' She said in a tone that would scare any normal man as she pressed her hidden knife to his special part. 'Of course unless you want your manhood cut off.'
'You wouldn't dare.' He grumbled as he loosened his grip ever so slightly.
'Oh really are you sure?' A grin crept onto her face again as she pushed the knife harder.
He removed the knife and shoved her away. She turned and took in his appearance. He was at least a head taller than her and had the muscle build of a wrestler. He had pulled his hood from his head to reveal short black hair and dark brown eyes.
'Now that you've picked to keep your manhood, what's your name?' Olivia gave him a lions grin as she stalked closer.
'My name is Cal Neagison.' He cast a weary gaze down the alley for a second then focused his full attention on her. 'And what may I call you?'
'Most people call me a bitch or she devil but I go by the name Olivia Robensmith, but you can call me whatever you want because this will not last long.' She threw her knife in the air and caught it over and over, with a wild grin on her face; a predictor accessing its prey.
'Or what, you're gonna gut me where I stand?' He huffed as he cocked his head and grinned. 'I hardly think someone of your, build, could accomplish something as bold as that, let alone be able to win in a fight against me.'
Olivia clicked her tongue once more and moved closer to Cal until she was in his face.
'Now you see, Cal. I don't quite think you understand who you're talking to.' She moved away from Cal, exposing her back to him while crossing the alley to finally rest on the wall across from where Cal now stood motionless. 'You see, another name I forgot to mention I get called by is, well you're gonna love this, is The Dragons Assassin.'
She cast him an evil grin and picked at her nails with her throwing knife as she devoured his reaction. He went completely still as shock settled in.
'You-you can't be.' He stuttered as he took a step back. Olivia advanced from the wall with the devils grin still spread from eye to eye.
'You see. It's funny isn't it. You thought I was weak just because, well, I'm a girl, right. Well I guess you never thought that this oh so innocent little girl could be one of the greatest Assassins of Spirtopia. See I'm actually branded as the Dragon city assassin because I'm that good but you know, I'm just a girl.'
Cal backed away, nearly toppling over a garbage can as he started to make a run for the alley opening.
Olivia clicked her tongue as she pushed off the wall. Cal took two bounding leaps before Olivia threw her knife with deadly accuracy as it found its mark in the centre of her targets knee.
With a yell that could probably be heard from ten blocks away, Cal went down with a cracking thud as he face planted into the pavement.
Olivia swaggered over to where her target was now trying to drag himself to what he thought was freedom.
'Ha. I could watch his all night but I'm tired so let's speed this up.' Olivia bent over and yanked Cal by his hair and dragged him up to a wall.
'Now, let's get down to business. Who do you work for?'
