[Y/N] sat huddled up in the corner of his and a certain vampire king's room, a frightened look on his face as he stared out of the window.

The night was stormy, the lights were out, and Marshall was nowhere to be seen all day.

This worried the young male, and Finn left a few hours ago, and he didn't have any way to contact him as his familiar, [fave animal], was back in the Nightosphere.

He wrapped the [fave color] blanket around his frame tighter as he tried to melt into the shadows and merge with the wall, but to no avail.

His eyes stung as he hasn't blinked in almost a minute. He didn't want to close his eyes; he didn't know what was out there.

He hugged his legs, which were covered from hip to toes by [color] pajama pants. He closed his eyes and let his eyes rest from staring at the dark outside.

The [species] whimpered and sniffed as his heart ached, fresh tears coming from his [e/c], bloodshot eyes, as he cried for the third time that night.

He steadily rocked himself back and forth, praying for Marshall to come home.

Truth be told, he had nightmares. Nightmares that he would never tell anyone, not even Marshall. And he had told almost everything to his vampiric lover.

He bit his lip, trying not to be so loud as he was afraid that they would be out there. That they would be out for revenge.

"[Y/N]?" A familiar voice whispered out as a figure opened the door. "Are you here?"

[Y/N] let out a tiny whimper, not wanting to use his voice as he was afraid that Marshall would most likely laugh at him.

Marshall's eyes darted over to the corner where [Y/N] sat and his eyes widened.

The [h/c]-haired male cried louder, more tears streaming down his [s/c] face.

"Baby, please don't cry," Marshall cooed as he wrapped his arms around his lover, kissing away his tears. "Sorry I was away, please forgive me."

The other wanted to respond, wanted to pour out his heart, wanted to yell at him, wanted to scold him for leaving him alone, but he couldn't. He was too tired.

Suddenly, Marshall started singing which brought [Y/N] back to reality.

"Let's go in the garden
You'll find something waiting
Right there where you left it
Lying upside down
When you finally find it
You'll see how it's faded
The underside is lighter
When you turn it around
Everything stays
Right where you left it
Everything stays
But it still changes
Ever so slightly
Daily and nightly
In little ways
When everything stays," Marshall sang, caressing [M/N]'s tear-stained cheeks.

Before he knew it, [Y/N] fell asleep.
