Omari closed her eyes, pinching the bridge of her nose. She had the beginnings of a migraine, and she longed to go outside to clear her head. She spun around on her office chair so that she was now facing the window-covered wall, with her back to the security cameras, and opened her eyes. Pulling herself to her feet, she ran her fingers through her dirty blonde hair, and walked over to the windows. Waves crashed at the bottom of the building, and the sun was slowly setting. Omari looked out into the sea, and after a few seconds heard the door creak open behind her, but she stayed facing the windows. She could clearly tell who the intruder was through the reflection of the glass.
"Azure," she said.
"Omari," Azure replied. She was staring at Omari, her flawless skin seeming to glow in the evening sun, and Omari turned around to face her.
"Can I help you?" she asked.
"Uh, yes, actually," Azure played with her silky black hair, repeatedly braiding it and then pulling it out. "Kapono sent me to check on you and ask how you're doing with," she lowered her voice. "Her."
"Oh, I'm doing just fine," Omari snapped. "Tell Kapono he has nothing to worry about, the princess is under careful watch." Omari's voice softened. "Oh, and Azure?"
"Yes?" Azure had been leaving, but turned around when Omari said her name.
"You look especially dazzling in this light," Omari smiled, and Azure smiled back, her tanned cheeks turning pink. She nodded and hurriedly left the room, her heels clicking on the floor. Omari turned back to the security cameras and sat down. She watched the cameras with interest, noting everything, and laughed to herself.
"You have no idea what you've gotten yourself into this time, princess."
