This story is requested by my bestfriend Vernon27 (yaaas!) Enjoy the story!
You arrived late in the day of your music practice but it wasn't starting yet, you were in relief. You're going to play the piano for the performance.
A minute later you saw Vernon, walking inside the stadium. He walked in with a messy hair, a checkered polo and jeans while he is carrying his guitar onto his shoulders.
He ran and stopped beside your seat.
"Hey, Charlene. Can I sit beside you?" He asked. "O- oh. Su- sure!" you said as you were looking up to him while you were stuttering. "Thanks" he smiled and bowed.
He was about to sit and you were also about to grab him a handkerchief then, "Mr. Hansol Vernon Chwe, your first." The music instructor said. Vernon's face got kinda annoyed cause he was about to sit because he got tired from rushing.
"So, you're going to play the piano huh?" He started a conversation while he tunes his guitar. "Oh yeah, I wi-"
You were stopped as the instructor calls him to play the guitar.
He started to play Out of my League on his guitar.
At some part at the end, he made a mistake. Vernon's face crumpled as he hit the wrong string.
Silence started, and all that you could do is clap. Everybody looked at you and so did Vernon, then your clap faded.
"Ok, you're next Charlene" the instructor said. Vernon stepped out of the stage with a dissapointed face.
"Why did you clapped for me?" He asked. "I mean... You still have guitar skills that some cannot do tho". Vernon smiled at you and hugged you.
"Goodluck." he said and you did a rectangular smile.
You walked up the stage, then started to play River flows in You. You felt every hit of the keyboard as you close your eyes while playing it.
You just finished playing, everybody clapped. "Very nice." The instructor said.
You bowed and walked back to your seat. "Nice piano skills you got there Charlene", "Oh, psshhh, those were nothing!"
After other people played their instruments. Everybody went home, you and Vernon was still packing up things.
Vernon heard you singing Out of my League quietly. He looked at you.
"Hey, hey." Vernon said. "What?" You looked at him. "Just continue singing." He grabbed his guitar and played it.
You sang the first verse...
Then he second-voiced at the part,
🎵 cause i love her with all that i am
and my voice shakes along with my hands...🎵
Vernon looked at you while you sang,
🎵cause she's all that I see and she's all that I need
and i'm out of my league once again...🎵
You opened your eyes while you stopped singing, you saw Vernon looking directly at you.
"Uhh, did I do something wrong?" You asked. Vernon's jaw was dropped a little. "Oh! No, No, you did... Perfect." Vernon answered as you both chuckled.
You went out with him before you went home. His arms was wrapped around your shoulder the whole way.
