Anyone suffering from ocd is completely aware of it's guit factor.Guilt over certain behaviour is normal, healthy even but with certain types of ocd a small thing such as going to washroom or touching a door nob or having certain intrusive thoughts can fill you with immense guilt.People suffering from ocd are generally those who have a low self confidence and if they had ocd for quite a certain time has practically non-existent self esteem,on top of this they have to live with a constant burden of guilt.
People suffering from disorders like anxiety, depression, too share the quality of having non-existent self esteem.People like us having anyone of above mentioned dragons(ocd, ptsd, anxiety, depression) have brains with one more annoying habit,it is the habit of remembering past events, especially those events which led us in front of these dragons.
They remind us constantly of these events, replaying them constantly and thinking various only if's-only if I had done things differently ,only if I was brave enough, only if I would not have been scared upon having that first intrusive thought, only if I would have ignored it like people told me to,then maybe just maybe I would not have been gone so deep, only if I would have gone out more, only if I had done things differently. These thoughts add more guilt to the ever increasing pile of guilt.
But what we need to understand is it doesn't matter,it doesn't matter what led us here,it simply does not.
It doesn't matter that the path which led us to these dragons were chosen for us by destiny or our own choices lead us there, what matters is that the dragon is in front of us right now trying to harm us.Right now what matters is to kill the dragon, defeat it so that we can live our lifeagain peacefully.Don't waste your time blaming yourself, forgive yourself and move on,so that you can slay this dragon. And I know you can do this,we can do this, mistakes happen what matters is we learn from them, and the first lesson is forgiving yourself.
SO LET'S slay these dragons of ocd, anxiety and depression.
