A beautiful afternoon at the shop. It feels good to be here. Until I get home. Its rough at home. Everybody is yelling at you. Wanting you to provide for the family, but its all worth it. Living at home is wonderful. Work is pleasant too. I feel myself there. I can wear what i want and nobody judges me. At the shop i would serve costumers. The shop is doing very good. " Hello What would you like ma'am?" I said. " Oh, hello Lu. I think I will take a plate of your best chocolate chip cookies please." Said Mrs. Landheart. " Would you like a seat or to stand up?" I asked. " Oh dear, I don't think I'll be able to get back up if I sit down. I'll stand up." " Ok, ma'am." I said with a smile.
" Oh, dear. It must be hard working here." Said Mrs, Landheart.
" Oh Mrs. Landheart, it's not that hard. I just walk around, take orders, and serve people." I said. It actually wasn't hard. Very easy.
" Here you go, enjoy your cookies."
" Oh, I'm so sorry, I forgot to say I'm taking these to go." Said Mrs. Landheart. " Oh, no problem ma'am." I say. Although, I wish she told me that before. It's OK though.
" Here you go, have a nice day."  I say politely. " Thank you dear" When she walks out the door my boss comes along and says " Lu I'm sorry, but we are going very low on money, and.."
" And what?"
" I'm sorry, Lu, I can't keep you. I can't keep the store. I won't be able to pay you, and the store is low brass. No one wants a Café anymore. Or, at least wants ours."
" But couldn't we just spass  up things a little. Like over here on the menu, we could put diamands across the edge of it, yeah, diamonds with jewels in the middle!" I tried to convince.
" No, Lu, I'm not turning my Café into a Moulon Rouge bar." My boss explained.
" Yeah, like the movies. You know, diamonds are a girls best friends."
" I'm sorry Lu, the shop will be closing tomorrow morning. You can either quit or I'll have to fire you." He said in a deep but yet relaxing voice.
I was astonished. The store has never not been busy. Mrs. Landheart was our very last customer, forever. I knew I would have to go home and tell my family I couldn't provide for them now. But, I couldn't bear do that. I just put my hat, and badge on the counter and went outside. I didn't know where to go or what to do, so I just sat in front of the store. My boss, well, Mr. Biersack walked out with tears in his eyes as he flipped the open sign to closed, but this time it was for good. When he flipped that sign, I could feel my heart shatter into a million pieces. It hurt enough to see him leave sobbing to the floor. And me, well my head was just in between my legs, with my arms crossed. You could hear me panting and breathing heavily, almost like I was trying to fight the tears, and I was.
I knew I would have to move on eventually, but I know I couldn't bear. Mr. Biersack came over and said
" Lu."
I looked up and his bold, fierce eyes were staring me straight into mine. And he said " Find a better job than what you did have. One that pays better. One that everyone goes to. One that can pay you the amount you deserve."
I just stood up. With confidence I said  "Yes, sir. I will."
He said good girl and walked away.
But how could you move on to something else right when you loose something you loved right then?
Does anyone  even know the answer to that? If they did, I wish I would have known by now.
