Part One

Maya POV

"Maya wait up!" Lucas yelled to me while I was on my way to my way to my first period class.
"Hey Huckleberry" I quirkily replied.
"I can't believe we are graduating high school in 2 weeks" he said changing the topic, I knew he hated that name, and even though I know this is a middle school thing to do, but I make fun of him because I like him. Scratch that I love him and I hate not being able to tell him. I look at his tall muscular body frame, and sparkling blue eyes.
"Maya? Why are you staring at me like that?" He said, I thought I saw a small blush.
"Oh oh I was just... Well you know I was well... Um thinking about how much of a huckleberry you are.. Yeah that's it" I replied trying to come up with a good excuse to stare at his beautifulness, did I just make up a word, well it fits.
"Okay? Anyways this is my stop I'll se you later Maya" Lucas said.
"Bye Lucas"

TIME SKIP TO THE END OF THE DAY

Lucas POV

I like her, I don't, she's pretty, she's hot, I don't know what the Farkle is happening. She plays with my mind I have never felt like this about any girl in my life, not even Riley. Oh man I just need to tell her, but I can't I know she doesn't feel the same. Think of the girl
"Hey Lucas, have you seen Riley?" Maya asked
"Yeah she told me she had to go home early and that she wasn't feeling well." I replied.
"Huh ok, well wanna walk home with me?" She asked.
"Sure" I answered.
Oh gosh she wants me to walk with her. We started walking. Our house were not that far away from each other. We had already walked a little while and talked a little bit... Then she dropped this question.
"So huckleberry do you like anyone"
Maya asked, I freaked out and then I decided to tell her honestly.
"Yeah I do, she is short, really pretty, she has beautiful eyes and blonde hair"
I said.
"Oh ok" Maya said sounding disappointed.
"Well were home, I'll talk to you later."
I stated.
"See ya huckleberry" she replied.

TIMR SKIP TO AN HOUR LATER

still Lucas POV

I am insensitive, I have a tendency
To pay more attention to the things that I need
Sometimes I drink to much, sometimes I test your trust,
Sometimes I don't know why you're staying with me.

Doing my homework and listening to music. I really hate homework but listening to music really helps me. I can't wait un- hearing a loud scream I rip my headphones out and look across the neighborhood from were the scream came from. Maya's house? I threw my shoes on and ran downstairs. Running out the door I sprint the fastest I've ever sprinted before kicking the door down I run upstairs to see Maya with her dad towering over her. She has a bloody nose and there is blood on his hands. You little son of a b--. Before I could even think I was on top of him punching him in the face, I waited till he was unconscious and I stopped and walked over to Maya.
"Maya, Maya are you okay?" I asked concerned.
"I'm fine Lucas thanks for coming"
"I would do anything for you."
"Why I'm just an ugly girl that no one likes my dad, my mom, and you"
She complained with a tear falling down her check.
"Maya I can't believe I waited this long to tell you that I love you, more than a friend, more than just my friend Maya I just want you to be more than my friend" I stated looking her in the eyes,
"How could you love me, I'm the worst, you are just saying that to make me fe-"
I cut her off by kissing her, I didn't care I was getting blood on my face I just wanted to be with her. I pulled back.
"Huckleberry, why did you do that?" She asked.
"I'm sorry I'm gonna go I just though you might feel the same way, I hope we can still be friends" I replied.
"I don't want to be friends Huckleberry, I want to be more" she said leaning in smiling.
"That's all I've ever wanted to be with you" I replied with a little smirk.
"Now, let's get you cleaned up and where gonna move you over to my house." I said
"Wait you live alone in a one bedroom house, how are we gonna do that?" She questioned looking nervous.
"Don't worry, I'll sleep on the pullout couch in the living room and you can sleep in my bed" I said reassuring her.
"Thanks Cowboy"
