"Come on Dean!" Sammy shouts from the couch. "We'll play it without you!"
Castiel sits stiffly on the other end of the couch. Movie night, that's what they called it. This should be.... interesting to say the least.
Dean braces himself against the counter in the kitchen. He's supposed to be preparing snacks but all he can think about is Castiel. It hasn't been that long since they've come out in the open about they're feelings and it still feels... awkward. He loves Cas, yes but he's grown so used to hiding it from everyone including himself and it's hard to let that go. "Come on Dean," he chastises himself whilst grabbing random food things and putting them on a tray. "what's the big deal? It's just Cas." With a motivating huff he picks up the tray of assortments and walks into the living room.
Castiel's breathing falters as Dean walks in holding the tray. Cas wanted nothing more than to stare at that beautiful face for all of eternity. He can feel himself start to sweat and suddenly feel... what was it called? Insecure, about his own appearance.
Dean gulps when he notices that he has the choice to either sit on a chair by himself or sit in between Sam and Cas. If he chooses the chair that'll send mixed signals but if he sits on the couch.... it is more appealing. He wants to be close to Cas, needs to be. "Here we are." Dean clunks the tray down on the coffee table.
"Uh," Sam leans forward and picks up one of the items. "Olives?"
Dean looks quizzically at the olives and then down at the tray. It consists of pineapple, bread, some strange green substance and what looks to be Jello. "Uh, yeah." He tries to play it cool. "I wanted to shake things up a bit." He plucks an olive out of the jar and places it before Castiels lips, still talking to Sam.
Cas hesitates but then takes the offered olive with his mouth, his lips brush against Dean's fingertips and his words hitch at the sensation. A blush forms on Castiel's cheeks and he looks away. Even though the room is darkened he doesn't want to risk any of them noticing.
"Yeah, right." Sam replies to whatever Dean said, "Can we just watch the movie now?" He gestures dramatically to the tv with the remote and pushes play.
"Sure Sammy." Dean flops onto the couch and lays his head onto Castiel's lap, throwing his legs over Sam in the process.
Cas stiffens even more, not expecting such abrupt contact. He breathes a calming sigh and looks down at Dean. He studies his face as his eyes flit about the tv screen, not even noticing. Cas places a hand in Dean's hair and gently strokes, watching the restful calm enter into the hunters eyes.
"Hey," Dean whispers after awhile and gently rubs the angels arm, never taking his eyes off the screen. "You should watch the movie, it's getting good."
"I like what I'm watching now."
Dean looks up at Cas then and instantly becomes lost in the tv reflection dancing off of his eyes.
Sammy glances over at the two of them and a small smile appears on his face. Some things have always been meant to be together. An Angel and a hunter being one of them.
