Chapter 2~

"So, tell me again why you don't like him." CJ said, leaning forward on the couch as if getting closer to the tv will make it any easier to kill the zombies.

Kaylee groaned, pulling at her hair in agitation. "He just, gets on my nerves! I don't know!" She said in desperation watching the boy shoot a zombie in the head.

CJ's eyebrows furrowed together as he tried to contemplate her logic. He bit his lip in concentration as his fingers flew across the xbox controller in spastic motions. "I don't understand, Kaylee, he-"

"He was going to read my journal!" She shouted, throwing her hands in the air and cutting him off.

"Yeah but he didn't know it was your journal." He said, rolling his eyes that were still glued to the television. "Besides, I don't see what the big deal would have been if he had read your journal."

"The big deal is, that is my journal and I don't want some stranger putting his stinky nose in my business!" She huffed, looking at CJ incredulously.

CJ paused the game, and looked at Kaylee in a tired way as if to say 'are you serious right now?'.

"Don't give me that look! You know I'm right!" She said in defiance.

"Kay, I think that maybe you're over-" he stopped talking when Noah came down the stairs in grey sweatpants and a white singlet. Kaylee felt her breath catch in her throat and her anger rekindle all at the same time. His hair was an unruly mess of dark pieces going this way and that. He lazily ran his hand through it as he walked down the stairs. He froze when he looked up to see the boy and the girl staring at him.

"Did I interrupt something?" He questioned in a deep morning voice as he rubbed the sleep from his eyes.

"Actually, ye-"

"No you're fine." CJ cut Kaylee off glancing at her out of the corner of his eye.

Kaylee glanced at Noah who was already smirking to himself. Why is he always smirking?

He nodded and walked into the living room and sat down in the couch beside CJ leaving Kaylee sat on the love-seat adjacent to the couch glaring at him in utter annoyance.

"Call of Duty?" Noah asked, eyes locked on the screen.

"Yeah man, you wanna play?" CJ answered, picking up a controller on the table and holding it out to him while playing the game with the other hand.

"Nah, I'm good with watching." He answered, leaning back on the couch.

CJ shrugged,"Suit yourself."

Kaylee scoffed, standing up from the sofa. "I'll be in my room, if either of you nimrods needs me." She walked up the stairs, not giving so much as a glance back.

As she left the room, Noah watched her. He observed her from head to toe. There was no doubt that she was pretty, with her long crimson hair and her clear complexion that contrasted perfectly with her hair. One of the first things he had noticed about her when he met her yesterday was her eyes. She had the biggest, most beautiful, hazel eyes anyone could imagine. Her long dark lashes framed them perfectly and brushed her cheek bones every time she would blink. And Noah knew that. But when she had opened her mouth, he was surprised that her attitude was quite the opposite of her appearance. But Noah didn't mind, he actually found her sarcastic, snappy attitude slightly amusing.

To add to the sarcastic attitude and the pretty face, she was fit too. She had the type of body that would leave guys drooling like dogs behind her. She had a slim waist and skinny legs, not to mention, as all the girls in Queen's Creek would say, her 'boobs of a Greek goddess'. Basically, she was perfect, as I have mentioned before. The best part about it though, was that she had no idea.
