Chapter one~ Luck really isnt on my side!

Dear diary,
I don't want to be here. I want to go back home to Tennessee! Why did my Mum have to get a job all the way in California, she had a good job as a chef back home. But no, she got a job offer to work in a better Restaurant. I know she only took it because we have been struggling with money for the past 5 months.

Why did my father have to cheat on my mother, they had there issues but why did he have to. It's one thing to cheat on my mother, but taking all the savings money as well. Buying his new girlfriends daughter a hot pink VE commodore. I don't even want to think about it, he knows that's my dream car & goes & buys it for miss barbie. That's his way of trying to get her approval to date her mum. I don't approve wheres my car? I know I should be supporting my mother I just miss my two best friends Ella & Leah & my boyfriend Kyle. We've been dating 9 months now, I just hope we can make the whole long distance relationship work. Time for school now diary, first day.. Wish me luck! kiss & hugs Zara.

"Zara come on, you're going to be late for your first day at your new school & I'm going to be late for my first day of work!" My mother yells up the stairs. I take one last look in the mirror before walking to the car. I make my way to the office & introduce myself & collect my class schedule, locker number & combination. I walk to the lockers & finally come across my locker. I look at my class schedule & see that I have double maths. Luck really isn't on my side, now I have to look forward to double maths every Monday morning. "Why me?" I whisper to myself. I am startled by a voice. "I'm sure it can't be that bad." A boys voice comes from beside me. I close my locker door & see a boy with short brown hair & blue eyes looking down at me. "Pardon?" I say confused. "I heard you whisper why me to yourself, I was just saying whatever it is can't be that bad." He explains. "You don't know me." I say with a slight tone in my voice. "Well I'm sure it can't be any worse then having double maths to start your Monday morning!" He replies with a sarcastic voice.

I look up at him & look down at my schedule & back up at him again. He has a confused look on his face then begins to say, "Oh I see, I take it back, it is that bad, well looks like we get to suffer in maths class together, come on il show you the way to class."

I take a moment to process what he just said to me & start to follow behind him. "I'm Ryder by the way." The strange boy says tilting his head towards me, still continuing to lead me to class. "I'm Zara Rose." I say as I walk up to Ryder so now we are walking side by side. We finally reach maths class & walk in. Instantly all eyes are on me, I look at Ryder & he gives me a smile & motions for me to come & sit on the empty seat beside him. The teacher walks into the class & starts the lesson, his eyes soon meet mine. "Oh hello, I'm Mr Donovan & who might you be?" He asks. "I'm Zara Rose, I'm new." I say softly wondering if anyone could even hear me. "Welcome!" Mr Donavan replies & continues on with the lesson.
