Lucius was an uptight fellow for as long as he could remember. He was handsome, suave and proud of his bloodline. His parents wanted nothing but the best for him, and made him very aware of the importance of marrying a pure-blood.

Lucius had his eye on a particular young lady since 3rd year.

Ms. Bellatrix Black.

She was pale, yet mysterious. A little strange, but...he was always aware of her smouldering eyes, and her presence. He knew of her blood status, and where her loyalties lay. All he needed was the courage to speak to the girl.

He tried, oh yes he tried to get the girl alone. However he never seemed to find the right things to say.

In time he learned of her attitude, and her clear dislike for him.

After countless and fruitless attempts, he gave up, and vowed to never care for another.

His parents however, had a surprise.

"Lucius, Boy, put on your best jacket and hurry!" Abraxus exclaimed. "We are having guests for dinner, The Black family, they have three daughters, you shall pick one, or we shall decide for you!" He added with a grunt.

Lucius felt his throat tighten with frustrated anticipation.

"I know who I will choose Father." He said Proudly.

The Black sisters bustled into the main entrance of Malfoy Manor, and hastily removed their cloaks.

Bellatrix's jet black hair, and her pale skin looked out of place in the mansion. Her sour expression only enhanced her bony cheeks.

The middle girl was introduced, yet Lucius hadn't caught her name, nor did he care. The girl had blood - traitor written all over her face. She even dressed like a muggle. Lucius bit his cheek so hard to keep from spluttering a retort that he tasted blood.

Bellatrix had yet to take her hateful glare off of his face.

When Narcissa was introduced, Lucius had to stop himself from gasping.

He hadn't seen her all summer, and was shocked over the way she blossomed this past summer. Silver blonde, piercing blue eyes, petite, yet so strong. He made a note of the facial expression though. She appeared to be sniffing around the air as if trying to locate an unpleasant smell.

Lucius gave a slight bow. "Ladies, dinner will be served in the drawing room, Dobby our house elf has been slaving away all day to please you."

They all nodded, and followed him into the dimly lit room.

Dinner dragged on, and Bellatrix still shot him daggers everytime she could.

Finally, it was time.

"Well Lucius? Are any of these girls the one for you?' His father questioned.

"Yes Father, only one." He nodded silently. "I have one thing to say before I pick; I want her to want to be with me. I want her to agree, I won't take her away from her family, unless she wants it, that is." Ha added in a breathe. He kept his eyes on Narcissa's.

"I would never marry a spineless wizard such as yourself!" Bellatrix burst. "Any husband of mine would need power!" She added with a shriek.

"I understand that Bella, however, It's your youngest sister here, Cissy, who I would really want the pleasure with..." Lucius said steely.

Narcissa gasped, and nodded fervantly.

Bella glared.
