Marceline's POV
From my little tree house in the plains, I flew to one of the few places I just knew I would feel less lonely. So off I went, across the forest which slowly melted into a forest of candy corn trees. Within the center was a sprawling little village that was just beginning to get it's start. The best part about it though, was that I was getting to date the leader of it all.
I found her in her little half built candy tower, bubblegum hair in a messy bun like she was stressed out or something. Sometimes, it was hard to tell if Bonnibel was either stressed or just plain tired. Though with the Candy Kingdom starting to grow into something of importance, she had reason to be both. I decided I would surprise her, so I went invisible and floated right behind her, and planted a sweet little kiss on her left cheek. By the time she had reacted however, I was already on the other side, smooching her right check. I stayed there when she turned again, and gave her a full kiss on her sweet lips, slowly becoming visible again as I cupped her face.
"Marceline...," she whispered softly as she pulled away.
"Miss me, Bonnie?" I said with a smirk on my face, having successfully pulled off my sneak attack on those pink candy lips.
" You know I did. I always do, don't I?" she replied, returning my smile? Glob, I just love her so much sometimes. It's a good thing we're both immortal cause that means that I get to spend the rest of eternity with my Bonnnibel.
"Hey, Marceline?" she asked in a hushed voice, almost like she was afraid to say it.
Oh glob, she never uses my full name unless it is something major. Oh glob, oh glob...
"I've been thinking a lot about us, and about how big this settlement is getting. It's starting to become a lot, ya know?" she said, her crystal blue eyes staring at the ground, tears beginning to form on the rims.
I immediately assumed the worst.
"So this is it, is that right? After all we've been through, Bonnie?! After everything I've done for you? For us? You just want to throw our relationship because of a little work overload? I see where I stand." I was infuriated. I couldn't even see straight.
" Marcy, no, that's not it at all..."
" So what you just don't love me anymore? Huh Bonnibel? You know what, I'm out of here. I love you Bonnie, but I guess I'm not important anymore. Goodbye." I flew out the window and into the night before she even got a word out. Little did I know back then just how wrongly I had assumed....
Bubblegum's POV
Marceline flew out the window in a fit, and I just sat there, dumbfounded and broken beyond all comprehension. She had thought I was breaking up with her.... She had thought that after all this time that I would pick work over her. I cried as I lied down on my bed, sobbing into my pink satin pillows, clutching that thing that had ironically ruined my relationship. It was supposed to be the thing that made it last forever. In my hand I was clutching the ring I want to use to ask Marceline to be my queen.... The engagement ring I had made from pure gold and diamond.... And now I had lost her, and she probably wasn't ever coming back.....
