Why does life have to be so cruel? Why must life be so unfair? These thoughts swarm the minds of the only two female Quileute wolves. They weren't supposed to change, but for some reason they did. But all it has brought them is pain. Leah is all but forced to watch the man, who was once hers, love another. And to make matters worse the girl was Leah's cousin. Raelyn consumed by loneliness as everyone become preoccupied with their love. The two girls huddle together trying to help piece each other back together. If one girl was seen around the reservation chances are the other girl wasn't far behind. The girls would always sit next to each other at any and all pack activities. The girls' pack mates were never able to understand why the two were so close. But everything was about to change for the female wolves. They had finally had enough of the pain and decided to leave La Push.

The packs were shocked when the girls finally informed them of their plan. Once someone phased it was unheard of for the, to leave. The wolves were supposed to protect La Push with their lives, and that can't really happen if the wolves aren't in La Push. But the girls were tired of the pain. Leaving La Push is the only way to get away from them to ensure that the pain will stop.

The girls had already planned everything out. Where they were going to go and where they were going to stay when they got there. The only thing the girls have left to do is pack up their stuff and tell their, soon to be ex, pack mates. Everything was all cleared with their parents and although they understood their children's need, it still made them sad that their children felt that they had to leave to make the pain stop. And the dreaded day had finally come.

It was a typical Friday night in La Push, which meant that it was also the night that the resident wolf pack had their weekly bon fire at First Beach. Everyone with any involvement in the pack would be there (from actual members to imprints to the elders). The night continued as normal as well. Built the bon fire, ate tons of food, listened to the tribal legends again, and then sat around the fire for many hours laughing and joking. This is it. It's now or never.

"Leah and I have something to share with you guys," Raelyn says, bringing all attention to the log in which she and Leah sat.

"What are you to finally going to explain to us why you have been sneaking around for the past week?" Paul goads.

"Yes, actually Paul, that is what we want to talk about," Leah retorts, sitting up straighter on the log as if ready to leap across the fire and strangle him.

"Well, are you going to spit it out?" Jacob cuts his sister off in and attempt to try to speed things along.

But he only ends up aggravating the girls and further confirming in their minds that leaving was the best thing for them to do.

"We are leaving La Push," Raelyn deadpans.

"WHAT?!?!" choruses everyone, excluding the elders (who already knew since the girls had asked for permission to leave earlier in the week).

"What do you mean you are leaving?!" Jacob screams at his sister, suddenly standing up and almost knocks his imprint off of his lap.

"Raelyn and I have been talking. We have decided that we need a change and we aren't going to get that if we stay here," Leah explains rather calmly surprising everyone.

"But what is so bad that you feel that leaving is the only way to fix it," Sam asks worry lacing his voice.

"They want to leave because they don't fit in. And because they don't fit in it causes them excess pain both emotional and mental," Seth realizes looking at his sister and her best friend.

"And how exactly do they not fit in. They both phase just like the rest of us," Quil questions.

"Yah they phase like the rest of us, but it isn't the same. According to the legends they were never supposed to phase in the first place. The first reason as to why they don't fit in. Since this has never happened before we don't even know if they can imprint. Thus being reason number two. They sit here half the time all but forced to watch they rest of us with imprint flaunt it in their face, whether intentional or not. And the few of us that do not have imprint yet at least have the knowledge we will one day find the one that is meant for us. They don't get that knowledge or hope. While we many not really see those things as not fitting in that is what it screams to them," Seth explains shocking Leah and Raelyn more than anyone else.

"We are leaving the day after tomorrow, "Leah speaks in a soft voice. "We just wanted to let you all know before we just left."

"Just because we want to leave does not mean that we don't care. We just need to leave for a little bit and get away from everything for a while. We will keep in touch and everything. But no matter what you say we are still going to leave," Raelyn explains.

After that night, things have been a little tense between the pack and the two female wolves. The other member had a slight understanding after Seth's impromptu explanation but it was still hard for them to understand the desperate need to leave. While most of the other shifters will not confess it, they will desperately miss the two female wolves that they have spent some of the most difficult time of their lives with. But today was the day. It was finally come to the day for the girls to pack the rest of their stuff into Raelyn's black 2008 dodge challenger (her brother helped her rebuild it and it has become her pride and joy) and leave to their new life away from La Push.

And that was it. The girls finally finished packing and started saying their last goodbyes. The car was started and backed out of the Clearwater's driveway. Within 20 minutes the girls were on the highway and headed for their new life in California to a little town called Beacon Hills.
