Midnight Monochrome

Midnight Monochrome was born of a princess, regarded by many, as a god. This princess raised the sun, and her younger sister, raised the moon and stars. Midnight was born without a father. The princess used her magic to impregnate herself, to experience the joy of having a child. When Midnight was born, they found that he looked much like the younger sister, who raised the moon and stars, and they decided to name him accordingly. His hair was mainly white, with streaks of black throughout it, hence: Monochrome. Being from a princess, he lived royally with the two for about 1000 years.

Midnight was still small, young and naïve. He was not exposed to the world much as he grew up in the castle, so he decided to go on a trip, alone, without informing anyone. He traveled south a long way from the castle, into the deserts. Of course, being young, he got lost. The desert was very hot, dry, and barren. No food or water of any kind. After night fell, and it got cooler, he decided to walk more, hoping to find something, and he did. He happened to find ancient ruins, buried in the sand, and, fully intact. He entered the ruins in search of food and water, which, he found. There was a well in the center of a large building and preserved jars of various fruits. After wandering around in these ruins, he found a vast library, full of ancient knowledge. He started reading, learning. He spent quite some time in the ruins, mainly the library, and eventually, forgot about his life outside of the ruins. It took him about 10 years to read everything, and he continued to live in the ruins for several more years.

He eventually left the ruins in search of other creatures, anything he could talk to, and that would talk back. He wandered for a few days and found a small desert civilization, and using the knowledge he gained, he helped the small town thrive. He taught them how to grow crops in the sand, and to store water correctly. He stayed here for a short while and became an archaeologist, using more things he learned. He studied maps and other things that helped him locate many ancient civilizations in and around the desert. He became generally famous, but not famous enough for the princesses to hear about him.

After his exploits in the deserts, he headed north, towards cooler, more civilized and forested lands. During this journey, he stopped in every town and library he came across. After 20 years of travelling, he found a large boulder in a field, surrounded by a few trees. Midnight went to a generally close town and got some supplies to build a small home. He built this home against the boulder, so that the back wall was the boulder. He used some of the more recent knowledge he acquired to create an inter-dimensional area, which he made his house. He made a portal to his home through the boulder. Because of what his home was, it technically didn’t exist. Even creatures that travelled between dimensions couldn’t get to it.

Midnight spent most of his life living there. Throughout his life, he added to, and improved upon his home. The walls and floors were pure white, and he had an extremely large library with a copy of everything he had ever read, with several cases for special books and readings. Every time he needed more space, he simply expanded; there is an infinite amount of space between dimensions.

He (almost) lived through, and participated in, every war after he created his home. He was a nearly perfect soldier; he had good strategies, drive, and endurance. He ranked up quickly in the military, but also was taken out of the fighting. For someone normal, they would have happily accepted, but Midnight left the military and started over, so he could fight on the front lines, and actually feel like he was doing something. During the First Great War, he found that he was special, other than that he nearly stopped aging, but he wouldn’t die for long. He was shot 27 times and died. The bullets dissolved and his wounds healed. He got up, felt fine (with the exception of some lost memory) and continued fighting, with less caution than before. He was a major attribute to whoever he was fighting for, but once again, the princesses did not hear of this.

About 30 years after this, a Second Great War broke out. Midnight fought then as well, but not enough to make too much of a difference.

After the Second Great War, he decided to travel the world, and possibly find his parent. There were a few problems; the princess never declared that she had a child, and she had nearly given up on ever seeing him again. She still kept track of his birthdays and age in case he finally came home. On his journey, several times he encountered a beautiful woman with a strange blue box. It turns out, she was a time traveler, and agreed to bring him back to around when he was born. They traveled back 7899 years. He had finally found out who his mother was. The time traveler brought him back to when they left and introduced him to her husband, who happened to be the son of the younger princess. He quickly brought him into the castle to be reunited with his family.

Midnight was reunited with his mother and family about a month before his birthday. He turned 7900 on August 18, 2013. For his birthday, his mother gave him an ancient book of forbidden spells; written long before he was born (He put this book in one of the cases in his personal library) and his aunt gave him a crystal with the light of a star inside it. He continued his life happily with friends until recently, as he went missing. It is assumed he was captured by changelings, as he was traveling in that direction when he was last seen.
