Part one: War, War never changes.

The wasteland is a horrible place. It has no rules. No police. What happens in the wasteland stays in the wasteland. My name is Jon Allen. Otherwise known as dead man walking.  Why do they call me that? I’m part of the brother hood of steels elite forces, or at least I was.  I’m not going into too much detail, but about 6 months ago the brotherhood was tipped off on a possible store that was filled with supplies. I know, too good to be true. I didn’t like it, that mission just screamed trap but I didn’t get where I was by questioning my orders. So me, and the 4 other members of my squad got in the vertibird and we set off.  At first the ride was fairly pleasant, it was a warm summer day and we hadn’t seen to many supermutants anywhere except for the Washington memorial and the white house. But of course, that was a given. Finally we reached our destination and we landed. But then, that’s when things stopped being pleasant.

Once we got inside we began searching for materials. Shockingly, we actually found something, green beans, and 10 9mm bullets. I tossed them over to jack, (jack was our sniper, he had actually gotten there hours before us to check out any activity. I can tell you one thing, I certainly never envied him he woke up 6 am every morning and ran 2 miles in full power armor and a sniper rifle.) Finally we decided that this was a bust, so I pulled out my radio and phoned in for pickup.  As we began our way to the front door jack  said “hide” and rushed behind the front doors. I hid behind one of the aisles and watched jack.

He took his sniper rifle out and began looking through the door. After about 5 minutes of examination, he put it away and rushed beside me. “5 guys, 3 machine guns, one rocket, one sniper, enclave.”  He whispered into my ear. “Great” I responded. “I wonder if they heard about the sale on sugar bombs too.”  He chuckled ,  looked up, and shouted “get back!”

Immediately afterwards jack, along with me and the 2 other members of the squad, ran and ducked behind the checkout desk at the end of the store. Just a second after the last of us got past; there was a large explosion and the whole front end of the store collapsed.  “Shit, everyone hold your ground, Jon where’s that evac you ordered?” said commander Knox (he was the group leader, not the smartest guy, but he always seemed to know exactly what to do,  and when to do it) I immediately pulled out my radio and called for the vertibird. After a few minutes the radio came buzzing to life with the voice of our pilot. “Hey hey, im coming. Its not easy trying to fly over these rockets.” After the response I drew out my service rifle just as the enclave started coming in from the hole in the roof.

It was unbelievable how many of these guys we missed while we were in the air. And besides, why are there so many, what could they possibly want from this store.

After about maybe 20 minutes of continuous fire, a vertibird flew over the store and to the back, immediately commander Knox yelled “come on boys, rides here.  LETS MOVE” soon after, jack, ash (ah ash. She preferred a shotgun over anything. I don’t really know why, but I will say shes gotten me out of a few hairy situations before. plus, she wasn’t too hard on the eyes. One of the guys back at hq actually asked her out. I wont go into details, but I will say, he hasn’t walked straight since.) and I ran through the back door and into the vertibird. Commander Knox was just coming out of the back of the store, when a shot got him in the leg, and he fell out. I was on my to help him when the vertibird began its lift off.

“Wait wait! Commander knox is still down there” I yelled to the pilot.  Instead of responding, he just ignored me and flew from the store.

After the silent ride back to hq we reported straight to our chapters leader. Elder lee (yes I know. Hes thrown out over 10 people for “treason” because they called him “elderly” to his face.) once we told him of the mission, he seemed furious.  “we sent you to a place, that was guaranteed to have supplies,  and what do you come back with? NOTHING. He was red at this point. To this day im not sure why. After about 20 minutes of nonstop yelling, he sat down and began to speak.  He began to look at me, and said “you, youre name is what? George? Harold?” “jon” I said.  “ah yeas. Jon, and I assume you have taken command of this unit yes?” “no sir. Elder lee.”  I said, sounding as official as possible. Finally the last sentence of this conversation was “ah yes I see. Well, maybe it was for the better.  You old leader died on the job, which informs me, he wasn’t strong enough for the brotherhood.” I couldn’t believe what I was hearing. Commander Knox was a great leader. This infuriated me, so I did what I never thought I would do. I attacked elder lee.

Part 2- banished

I only managed to get a few hits on the elder before his personal guards pulled me off. Once he got up he put his hand over his eye, and looked at me. “you…you. DARE.  I BANISH YOU FROM THE GROUP, ALL OF YOU.” I looked back at the group and saw all of their faces.  Afterwards, we packed our things including our armor (shocking that he would just give that to us) and our weapons.  Within the hour we were on our own in the wasteland.

After maybe 2 weeks of wondering the wasteland, we finally decided to go west, it took us 2 months to make it to Ohio from Maryland. And another six to make it to Colorado their things went (ironically) south, really really fast. We encountered something called the “Caesars legion” which they were nothing but barbarians, whom im surprised have yet to be wiped out. The whole way through Colorado we were under constant attack. A few days before we got out of Colorado, ash was injured on the job. We tried to take her, but she was slowing us down. Eventually she insisted we leave her, so we did just that. Afterwards it seemed they lost interest in us because we never saw a group of them again, or at least, not for a while.

Now then that brings us to the present.

We managed to escape Colorado, and pass through Utah without a problem. Eventually jack and I heard about a big town named “new vegas”.  Jack and I decided to eventually check the place out. Once we made it, we encountered some people who call themselves “followers of the apocalypse.”  They took us in, fed us, and gave us a place to sleep.

Once they trusted us, they gave us a place to call our own. An old abandoned house just on the outskirts of new Vegas. Unfortunately, that’s when our luck changed. One night jack awaked me. “Quick, get on your armor, there’s enclave outside.” He yelled, as he was getting his leg piece on.

Once my armor was on, I asked him what was happening. All he said was “enclave, 4 soldiers in the yard, 2 snipers in the hills. More that likely they’ve got more coming.”  I grabbed my service rifle, took a deep breath, and opened the door. I got maybe 4 shots out before I was over whelmed. In a matter of seconds there enclave soldiers rushing the house. I instantly dropped my service rifle, and pulled out my handgun. I managed to kill 2 of the soldiers, but 3 more took their place. I looked over to jack, he wasn’t doing too well either. He was in a fistfight with one of the enclave soldiers, and losing. He threw a punch but the soldier ducked and punched him in the gut. I grabbed two of the enclave soldier’s helmets and smashed them together, then smacked the other enclave soldier with the butt of my pistol. Then finally, I ran after the enclave and tackled him through the window.

Once I was done with him, I got up and ran for the house. Unfortunately before I could get inside, the house blew up. And everything went dark.

When I woke up, there was a bright light in my face and I heard someone say “oh look, he’s awake. “ then it shut off, and my eyes adjusted to my surroundings
