Evangeline

Evangeline and Kaden had just gotten to the market. They decided to go have breakfast since people loved to talk and eat.

Evangeline didn't miss the many looks the women of the town kept throwing at Kaden and she also did not miss the winks and smirks he threw back.

"You are suppose to stay unnoticed," she reminded him as he was sharing a look with a particularly pretty brunette.

Kaden shot her a smug look. "I don't think that is possible, I mean, have you looked at me?"

Evangeline shook her head. "You know, modesty is the best quality?"

Kaden only shrugged in response. "That's something ugly people have made up to make themselves feel better."

"You are insufferable," said Evangeline trying to contain her laughter.

They walked in a local inn and sat themselves on a table. It wasn't long until a young woman came to take their order.

"What can I get you two?" She asked but Evangeline noticed her eyes stayed on Kaden, not once looking at her.

She cleared her throat so the girl can look at her instead of ogling her partner. The girl looked at Evangeline with colored cheeks, embarrassed to be caught in the act. "We will get the house special please."

The girl nodded her head before giving Kaden one more look before disappearing. As soon as she was out of earshot Kaden threw his head back in laughter earning a curious look from Evangeline.

"Why Eva, if I didn't know you better I would think you are jealous," he gave her a wide grin.

Evangeline crossed her arms in front of her chest. "You do know me, so you should know that would be the last emotion I would feel. You should also know that you can call me Evangeline. I am just angry because I don't like to be ignored. I am sitting right here!"

Kaden laughed loudly once more, aggravating Evangeline all the more. "But you must admit, you were a little bit jealous."

"Was not."

"Are too."

"Was not!"

"Are too!"

Evangeline scowled at the grinning Kaden. Before she could throw some profanities at him, the waitress had come back.

"Two house specials and drinks on the house," said the waitress shooting Kaden a shy smile. Of course she had gotten him free drinks, thought Evangeline.

Kaden shot the waitress a flirtatious smile that had her blushing even more and rushing away. Kaden now turned to Evangeline with a smirk that had her wanting to slap off. "You see Eva, good thing comes to handsome people."

"But you're the worst thing that has happened to me," Evangeline returned the smirk.

Kaden only chuckled in response. "I said handsome people."

Evangeline raised a brow challenging Kaden. "Oh I have faith in my looks, shall I show you?"

The smile fell from Kaden's face. "You wouldn't."
