A college canteen is never a solitary place, it's always crowded. One can easily witness a bunch of students, chilling, hanging out, and feeding there. And as per the traditions, the canteen is nearly occupied today.

Voices of the students placing their orders resounded the whole area. Most of the boys had the habit of adding the phrase, "Nihaal Bhai" before they place their orders. Nihaal was the person's name who took their orders. They had the misconception that by doing so they might be given some priority.

Amidst of all these chit- chats, a girl was sitting at the corner with her friends. Yes the one I have been looking for. She was having lunch. Meanwhile all seven of us sat in the middle discussing how am I going to make my first move to start conversation with her. Being an amateur in these affairs I thought it would be wise to take some tips from my pals.

First tip was given to me which I think I could ever forget was from Jemson - so called 'Poly ka Aashiq'. He said ," Be a man". Next tip came in - "You have to do it now, you're in college. Aakir ab ni to kb.?", Prateek added. They have puffed me up to an extent that if I came empty handed they won't have let me live with their teasings.

Meanwhile she finished her lunch and began to walk out of the canteen. I was totally startled as I was unable to decide what to do next. Sumit nearly kicked me to make me move. Coming back to my senses I walked behind her. Prateek and Martin followed as they wished to ensure whether I had the courage to talk to her or not.

Finally gathering all my nerves I said ,"Excuse me." My heart started beating faster and faster as if it was going to come out through my chest cavity. Presence of a little sweat over my forehead clearly indicated my nervousness. She stopped. "Yar wifi ajkl shi kaam ni kr rha!!", Martin expressed his concern signalling Prateek to head back. They didn't wanted the girl to know about their presence at the scene. Her friends also did the same.

I was standing infront of her now, struggling to make eye contact. She seemed a bit uncomfortable and a more surprised. So inorder to ease the situation I initiated the conversation.
"Are you fresher," I asked thinking being a second yearite it would be appropriate to start the conversation.

"Yes,"- she replied. "Which department," I asked further.

"Botany and you?" She counter questioned me. And this is how I introduced myself- "I am Divyank from Math Deptt. Second year, actually I did said Hie back at the science block"- I added. "So I was right Mr."- she replied. "Actually when I saw you for the first app mujhe bhot ache lage," I said totally unaware of what it actually meant. She smiled.

Now she appeared quite comfortable while taking. "So what's your name," I asked with curiosity. "Meera, Meera Sharma," she answered. But I couldn't hear it because of the nervousness which was still prevailing over me. And in my soliloquy I thought- "What am I going to say to my friends..!! She told her name and I wasn't able to hear it. Oh man..!! What a pitiful condition I would be in. Keeping all these thoughts aside I asked, " Would you like to be my friend? " and without even a single thought she said yes. I was over joyed. Meanwhile we had started walking across the verandah.

"Are you on Facebook," was my next question."Yes" was her reply. "Will you accept my request if I send it to you," I asked politely. She gave her consent. "With what username have you created your profile on fb," I asked seizing the opportunity I got to ask her name again. She said, "Meera Sharma, with Jacqueline pic as my dp". I can't explain how happy I was to know her name. "Nice to meet you and will catch you later," saying this I departed with a glow over my face.

It was the happiest moment of my life I can say. I reached BCR (Boys Common Room) where all my friends sat awaiting my arrival. Seeing smile over my face everyone knew that they're going to hear good news. Now it was my turn to tell each and everyone separately about my meeting with Meera. From then on our friendship continued which soon turned into a relationship.

So friends this is how Love knocked at Divyank's heart. Keep the door of your hearts open too... Maybe your love is waiting outside.
