Chapter One-
Today is the day I’m going to talk to my crush. James Owen, age 19, height about 6’4’’. His eyes are brown, but not a dark brown, they’re more like a light caramel brown just like his hair. I’m very shy. I’m sorry but I am. I only have one best friend, Ashton. He has been my friend since… well I don’t remember. One day he just came over with my brother and his band. By the way I’m Aleah. Aleah Jayne Hemmings. That’s right I’m the famous Luke Hemmings older sister. I see James he is literally sitting two feet away from me. James fucking Owen. I slowly got up and out of my seat and adjusted my flowey black skirt. I made sure I looked perfect. “Okay this is it.” I whispered under my breath. I took a deep breath and started walking over wondering what I should say. Lost in my thought, I tripped over some guys backpack. “Shit!” I yelled falling to the ground smacking my head on the tile floor. I groaned in pane as I was pealed off the floor. Everything was blending together.
“Oh my god are you okay?” I saw someone in front of me. They were squeezing my shoulders. ‘Yes, I’m fine now let me go so I can go cry in the corner.’ I screamed in my head. But all I could do was groan.
“She doesn’t look to good.” Another voice said. I jerked my head to see who it was. James. Great. They walked me outside and sat me in the grass. “What’s your name love?” James asked after a wile. I just stared at him. Everything was still a bit blurry.
“A- Aleah.” I managed to choke out. “I’m Aleah Martten.”
“That’s a beautiful name. I’m James Owen.” After he said that the bell rang. I began to get up, and my vision was almost back. “Nnnno.” James shot up and grabbed my hands. “You aren’t going anywhere. Sit back down.” He demanded.
“But I have to go to class. I’m okay, I promise.”
“No I had one of my friends to tell the office to excuse you so you can relax and wait for your dad to get here.”
“You called my dad?” I asked sitting back on the grass.
“Yeah you need to go home. You hit your head pretty hard.” All I could do was stare into his amazing beautiful eyes.
“Oh, okay. Thank you.”
“No problem.” There was an awkward silence between us for a few seconds. “Listen,” he said pulling up another topic. “I see you everyday by yourself. And I don’t believe that you talk very much. Why is that?”
“Umm,” I hesitated. “I uah don’t have any friends at this school.” I lied.
“You’re a senior right?” geese what’s up with all the questions?
“Yeah, why?”
“ You’ve been at this school for four years and you never made any friends?”
“No. I have never found anyone that wants to talk to me.” I shyly looked away.
“Well I’m very interested in who you are. You should sit with me at lunch tomorrow.”
“I don’t think that’s a good idea.” I stood up to get into my dads car that pulled into the back parking lot.
“Why not. Its just lunch.” He quickly stood up.
“My best friend Aston is very protective.” I lied again. I really don’t want to be talking to him right now, especially because he saw me fall. I’m way to embarrassed.
“But he doesn’t even go to this school.”
“I know but still.” My dad rolled down the window and I got in.
“Hey I have news.” He interrupted our conversation.
“Will I see you tomorrow?” James poked his head into my window.
“We are moving.” My dad said finally. I looked back to James and answered him.
“No. I’m sorry.” With that my dad drove off and went home. I sighed in relief that we were moving.
“What was that all about?” he asked.
“He was the one that who told the office to call you. That’s James dad.” I’ve talked about James to him before but I never showed him a picture.
“Well he seemed nice. I’m sorry that we have to move. I thought you would be happy to get away.”
“Oh I am dad! I’ll be just fine with moving and starting over. Thank you.” I smiled. Sure I’ll miss James but oh well. I’ll find someone better. “Where are me moving anyway?”
