Chapter Seven
(A/N: My computer broke and I wasn't able to write for you guys! More on that in the author's note at the end. As you may be able to tell by the photo, Lenne is heading over to Miami to meet up w/everyone sooo Onward!)
"I don't want you to leave." Carolina sniffled, running a hand through her curly blonde hair and engulfing me into a tight hug. I hugged her back and smiled at the fondness in her voice. She was my only girlfriend this summer, and I couldn't help but hear my heart break just a little bit because I wasn't going to see her for quite a bit.
"Hey Caro, don't be sad. I'll come visit next summer okay? Right before you and I go off to college. That way we can do even wilder things okay?" I smiled sadly, giving her one last squeeze before letting her go and turning over to Marina. Her bangles jingled as she pulled me in for a warm, sad hug. She hadn't been around the house all that much the whole time I was there, but she was still a big part of me being able to be here. Hell, she was the biggest part of me being able to be here along with my mom.
"Now, listen to me. You go back and tell your mama, that you girls need to come down and visit. It was so great having you in the house Lenne. You're just like your mama. Lighting up the room yet so uncomfortable with yourselves. You'll be fine." She assured, letting go of my shoulders and scrummaging inside her white knitted over the shoulder purse. She pulled out a small black box and handed it to me.
"I know you always wear that charm bracelet so, I got you a little something to add on." Marina grinned, urging me to open it. When I did, there was a small bronze and silver globe charm resting inside the box.
"Gracias." I smiled and looked over at Hunter who looked a little distant.
"And you? You're not planning to say bye to me?" I teased slightly, trying to lighten up the mood. Hunter rolled his eyes and simply pulled me into his chest, wrapping his arms around my tiny frame. I smiled and hugged him back, breathing in his cologne and sighing when he let go.
"We had our runs didn't we cabron?" I smiled, punching his shoulder and shaking my head at him.
"Of course little lady. Hopefully more to come as well." He grinned sadly, his dimples not shown completely. My month there had gone by way too fast, but I felt ready. I was okay. I knew I was. And with that, I shot the three of them one last sad smile and walked towards my gate, plugging in my headphones and pulling my hair into a ponytail. As I walked up to the counter at the gate, I handed the grumpy lady my boarding pass and made my way into the thin detachable corridor that led straight to the plane.
Once I had found my seat, I put my carry on in the top bin and nestled into my seat, pulling on my sweatshirt. Taking off my earbuds and unplugging them, I decided to mess around with Snapchat. After many failed attempts at a good selfie, I finally took a decent one in black in white. Saving it, I posted it on Instagram and quickly put my phone on airplane mode. I had about three hours till I got to Miami and quite frankly, my plan was to sleep all the way through. (A/N: Personally, I have like an oober hard time falling asleep on a plane, but if I do, I will stay asleep for the whole flight. It's weird tbh. What do you guys do on the plane?)
"Ladies and gentlemen, please put on your seatbelts, put your seats in the upright position, and fold your tray tables. We will begin descent in 15 minutes. Thank you." the flight attendant spoke into the small speaker, waking me up immediately. I straightened my seat and pulled out my phone to see that it had already adjusted to Miami time and it was 3 pm. As I opened the small window, painful brightness streamed in, causing me to hiss slightly. I peeled off my oversized sweatshirt, my tank top underneath lifting up slightly showing the tattoo I had gotten less than a week ago.
The elegant scripture brought a smile to my face and made me miss Carolina even more. It read 'She is clothed in strength and dignity and she laughs without fear of the future-Proverbs 31:25' in a delicate cursive. Personally, it also was giving me the confidence to head into that hotel. That was all the time I needed for this. That's all the time it took for my plane to land.
Walking out of that airport was probably the most terrifying thing of my life. I didn't know who was going to be waiting and when I saw them, my heart only began to beat faster. My mom, Katia, and Savannah were walking towards me, deep tans and broad smiles illuminating their small frames. My heart sank a bit when I didn't see Jake, but I also gave a sigh of relief. A month and a car ride wouldn't ever be able to give me enough time to be prepared to see him.
"Hey, amor. Look at you. All dark and a tattoo?" My mom said, raising an eyebrow. I smiled innocently and laughed when she couldn't help but smile either.
"Damn mama. Maybe you should send me to PR too." Katia said giving me a teasing wink and a huge hug. After the rest of the greetings, we got in a taxi and off we were to the hotel. Honestly, the whole time I was just wondering what I was going to say to Jake. How was he going to react when he saw me? How was I going to react? Pulling up to the hotel, my mom paid the grumpy taxi driver while Katia helped me with my bags in the back. Slowly, I breathed in and made my way into the hotel, slowing as we got closer to the elevators.
"Chiquita, you look a little nervous. Estas bien?" My mom questioned, giving me a concerned look. I nodded with a small, tight-lipped smile, trying to keep focused on anything but my anxiety. After what seemed like forever, the elevator and the silver doors opened, exposing a long hallway that was elegantly decorated. We walked towards a room that had 'Double Family Suite' inscribed on the door. Savannah slid her key card and opened the door and there he sat. On the couch, facing towards the TV and looking like hell hit him in a thousand different places. He looked up and I swear I saw something pulse through him.
"Lenne." He croaked out, clearing his throat and standing up to face me. Nevermind. Hell didn't seem to have hit him. It did hit him. Hard too.

I'm Sorry Peaches! I know that I took my sweet time but, my computer decided to be an asshole first off, then my tia had her baby, and then my teachers decided to screw me over with a whole bunch of homework. For like the millionth time this month, I am running on 3 hours of sleep and caffeine. I'm really starting to think that, that is unhealthy. How much am I supposed to sleep again? I don't even know what sleep is anymore oh my lord. Anyways.... THEY FINALLY SAW EACH OTHER AGAIN! I know this was a highly anticipated chapter and I apologize if it wasn't what you were expecting, but I promise it will get a lot better next chapter. That being said, I love you guys and I hope you have an amazing day/night/afternoon -Aime
