The sun ascended and the forest made clear, well, almost. If shadows blinded me in the night, the fog did so now. The place however, was by the least brightened enough that I could finally see my feet and wings.

"Dang..." I tiredly said to myself looking at my injured foot, and it appeared worse than before; the wound has darkened along with being moist. I never thought that the tangle was this bad; it left much scars and a deep cut when I pulled of my leg to take another step. It wondered why people even leave things like those out randomly.

Limping about, I passed through the mist's cold embrace. Laying hold of trees and rocks to avoid loosing balance. Then by the time I reached a cave, I saw a silhouette at some distance. It was well-defined in shape. It had a large tail with the shape of a fan and three circular plumes. I was about to draw closer when I saw a sudden blaze of fire a few inches in front of meblast to the left .

"HOLY HOLY HOLY!!!!" I shouted in panic, as I could feel it's heat.

Then I heard a chuckle from above so I looked up. Her subtle giggle had burst into a loud laughter when I saw her.

"Did it surprise you shorty?" she said, making fun of me.

It was a little hatchling girl with a round shape and short bill. She was also rather odd-looking, having three heterochromic eyes on her face.

"What's so funny?! Do you think that was funny?!" I snapped at her, gritting my teeth in irritation. "That could've killed me!" I added.

"Hah! That was fake fire, an illusion!" she retorted.

"Why could I feel it then?!" I asked.

"Because sight isn't the only illusion GENIUS!"

"Actually, I never knew that," I told her.

"You know now!"

Footsteps were heard coming towards our direction. I looked behind me, then beside, and I decided that I wanna move along only to have this guy's face in front of me out of nowhere!

"AAAAAAAAAAAAHH!!!!!!!!!!" both of us screamed.

I fell on my feet and was panting as he drew closer. I was quite freaked out, given the fact that he is freaky looking! He's taller than me....like everyone else, ugh...., he has one huge eyeball on his face, and his plumes are blinking. Nothing too odd about peacock feathers, but I don't remember them being actual eyes.

The bird I argued with moments ago jumped on him.

"Hey, good morning bro!" she greeted him with a wide grin.

"Oh, good morning Iris!" he replied, smiling at her.

"Who are you people?" I nervously asked them.

"My name is Iris as you can see, and this is my half-brother Occulus," the purple one answered.

"Uh...my name is Bubbles, and do you live here?" I said curiously.

"We do, but not in this area...also, what happened to your foot?"

"Oh, this? It got tangled with barbed wire, and I think it's infected!"

"I-I'm sorry!" Occulus apologized to me.

"Umm...did I say it wrong? It's not your fault," I told him after feeling awkward at his reaction. "By the way, do you guys know where I could find help?"

"Hmm..yeah, but it might not be the place you'll expect," Iris replied.

"Doesn't matter, anywhere will do"

Occulus picked me up from the ground and carried me on his back. He, along with Iris, went to the east. The fog was slowly fading. Everything was clearer than before. I could see the color of the fallen leaves from afar. I looked around. There was nothing to see. I wished that I'll get to see something interesting here, because I'm honestly feeling bored. There wasn't much of a conversation I had with the people I met ever since they took me with them.

"WE'RE HERE!!!!" Iris declared out of a sudden.
