A normal life. That's what I had. Before. That's what I want now. That's all I want. Well you might as well know what happened for me to want that much. So, here I go.
I was 15, normal parents. A younger sister and an older brother. They were 8 and 19. We lived in an older house in the far west side of Iowa. A farmhouse really. I helped my mother after school in the mornings and afterwords I would help my father in the fields, when I would have to pull my sandy blond hair up into a bun on top of my head. One day I woke up to a group of people around my bed. I look at one and see my mother, holding a tray. Pancakes. Orange juice. My birthday. How could I forget! I sit up and my mother gave me the tray. "Thank you guys!" I say. "And don't forget," my father says, sitting to my left. "No working today, and we are driving to town to get you a present." "I love you guys, thank you all" I say and we all went in for a group hug. That was one of my last normal moments I had with my family.I relaxed the rest of the day until I went at 6 with my dad to town. We went in his burgundy truck. We made it to town down the main road. It was busier then normal. Maybe it was a training day, I can't remember. We were at our only stoplight. The light went green. We went. It all happened so fast. A truck went through the other light. It hit us. I put my hands up. Everything froze. The truck, just hitting. Glass everywhere, just frozen in the air. My father, pushed with the force of the blast, but stopped. I sat up, and I realized, I'm not frozen. I move around the glass shards. I crawled across my father, not understanding. I got to the door, frozen as well, it won't budge. But then I notice the front window is shattered. I can slip out. I slip down the hood and hit the ground hard. Then everything went back. The cars slid in front of me. The cars hit a pole on the corner. The door on the truck opens up and a man jumps out and runs. No other doors open. All the sudden I notice there are people blurring my vision of the crash, I'm surrounded. Their words are fuzzy and I see through their legs the cars in flame. The next thing I knew the world went black. I woke up being rushed through somewhere. A man slightly opens my eye and a bright light is there. The world blackens again.
