Robert Johnson: Behind The Drums

Robert "The Beast" William Johnson was born on March, 30, 1949.

Robert was born to a lower-middle-class family. Robert had one sister, Cindy "Sissy" Rose Johnson. Robert began drumming when he was 3. Before he got a drum kit, Robert would hit anything that made noise. When he got his first drum set, Robert treated those drums with the utmost care. He treated them like his own child. When Robert wasn't at school he was drumming. By the time he was 13 drumming had become a bigger priority than school and began failing classes. His father was infuriated by this. Robert and his father grew apart. His mother encouraged his music. That pushed his mother and father apart. When Robert joined Society his parents decided to divorce.

Cindy "Sissy" Rose Johnson was born on December, 13, 1948.

Cindy loved to sing and when she was 4 her father finally got her a guitar. Cindy had a friend named Smith, he played guitar as well. Smith taught Cindy how to play guitar. When Robert was 5 him and Cindy played together as a duo. The two played folk, jazz, blues and rock 'n' roll. Robert and Cindy sang in perfect harmony. When Cindy was 14 she started dating Smith. Robert and Cindy were always very close and Robert was always very protective of Cindy. When she began dating Smith, Robert was very upset. She began spending more time with Smith and less time with Robert. Eventually, Cindy stopped playing music with Robert all together. Robert confronted her about this but, she told him that she loved Smith and didn't have time to play music anymore. Robert wasn't satisfied with that. He found out that Smith had told Cindy that if she continued playing music "She'd be sorry" and Robert was very unhappy about this. Robert convinced Cindy to tell him what was going on. Smith had been abusing her and if she played music he said he would hurt her really badly. Robert told her to break up with him but, she refused. Robert confronted Smith about this. Smith did not take well to this and the two broke into a fight. Robert broke Smith's nose and ended up with a black eye. Smith broke up with Cindy the next day.

Mark Henry Johnson was born on January 15, 1909.

Mark was born to a poor British family in South Kensington. When Mark was 17 he met Katherine "Kitty" Marilyn Davies. When Mark was 19 he got a job at an automotive plant and contined working there most of his life. When Mark turned 20 he proposed to Katherine. The two got married and Cindy was born in 1948.

Katherine "Kitty" Marilyn Davies was born on May, 1, 1910

Katherine was born to a middle-class British family. Her father abused her mother and was a drunk. Her brother protected her from her father. Her mother and her were very close. When Katherine was 15 her father killed her mother. Katherine was very distraught over her mother's death. Her brother took Katherine away from her father when he killed his mother. Katherine met Mark at school when she was 16. The two fell madly in love and when she was 19 Mark proposed to her and they were married four months later.
