Too soon.
My bump was huge and the days were going by slow. I haven't felt good for these couple of days so I've been in bed and eating soup. Jeffrey's supposed to be coming today to make me feel better so I'm excited.
- Jeffrey's pov -
"Are you gonna be the dad?" Ronan asked me with a mouthful of Chex mix.
"I think so. I mean I would feel really bad if she did this on her own. She needs me."
"So does that mean I'm going to be a uncle?"
"Ha sure lil bro"
This excited Ronan. He always talks about what he's going to do with the baby.
"Wait I never asked for the gender! You gotta tell me Jeff!"
" aha okay chill. It's going to be a girl."
"WHATKNOWAYICANTBELIVEITIMSOEXCITED!"
He kept bouncing up and down and doing... I think flips? I don't know but his happiness was making me happy. I can't believe I ever turned into a asshole this kid. And I'm afraid I'll do it again.

I was putting on a shirt when my mom barged in.
"Jeffrey come on! Araceli's in the hospital the baby's coming!"
It was so much to take in the baby was supposed to come in a month! I ran into the car with my mom and Ronan and we were heading to the hospital.
When we got there i saw Araceli's mom and I greeted her.
"What's going on?" I asked.
"We don't know Araceli was just in pain and I just raced to the hospital."
"Can we see her?"
"Yeah she's in room 345"
I went to search for the room and when I did she looked pale. She was asleep so I walked over to her and grabbed her hand. Her eyes slowly began to open.
"Are you okay?"
"Yes. I'm just very sick and they said I might have to go through a c-section."
This brought my eyes tears and I tried to blink them away because I didn't want her to see me cry. Suddenly a machine started beeping and doctors ran in the room.
"She's loosing oxygen! She's loosing oxygen!"
I heard them scream. I was terrified.
"Is she going to be okay!!?" I asked a doctor with tears streaming down my face.
"Sir I'm going to need you to wait in the guest room please."
I didn't want to leave but I eventually did.

It's been hours of waiting and I just wanted to see her.
"I hope everything is going to be okay." Ronan sighed.
"I'm sorry that you have to experience this Ronan."
"It's okay. We didn't know."
A few more hours past when a doctor finally came out.
"Araceli's family?" He called.
We all stood up to go hear the news. Araceli's mom and my mom shook his hand nervously.
"How is she?" Her mom asked.
"I know this is going to be hard to take in." He started. And by the tone of his voice I knew something had happened.
"The baby is a healthy girl she is okay, but the mom did not make it due to endless bleeding during the c-section."
I tried not to loose it. I couldn't loose it in front of my mom or Ronan or Araceli's mom. Araceli's mom broke down as my mom did the same. And I couldn't hold it in. I sobbed in my hands. Ronan couldn't believe it either. And the fact he has to go through this makes me cry more.
"Y'all are welcomed to see the baby whenever y'all want but I will give y'all a moment."
The doctor said and left.
I tried my best to comfort everyone.

A hour later after we calmed down I was ready to see the baby. I'm still broke and I still want to punch every wall I come across but I'm going to make sure this baby feels safe.
When I walked in a doctor was holding her.
"Hi are you the father?" She asked. "Y-yes."
"Would you like to hold her?"
I held out my arms for her and she handed her to me. She was wide awake.
This was so beautiful.
I know this wasn't my baby but she looked just liked Araceli. Her eyes and skin color. She wrapped her small fingers around my thumb and I smiled.
She was beautiful.
This made me happy. I wish Araceli was here to see her. But I know she's probably in this room smiling and shaking her head saying "how is this goof gonna take care of a child." I chuckled at my thought as tears started forming. She stared crying and I started to sing a song and rocked her back and forth. She stopped crying as soon as she heard me start singing. It was so cute because she kept her tiny fingers around my thumb and her huge eye balls stared at me as she listened to every note that came out of my mouth. A few moments later she fell asleep in my arms.
"I promise I will keep you happy and safe." I whispered as I kissed her soft fore head.
