It became a constant thing For the two boys. Luffy would have law sit with him and his friends at lunch.Laws friends would even come sit with them and chat. Luffy had learned most of their names like Penguin, Jean, and something as of Sausage or what not.
Law would run to the Dark Forest every other day and Luffy would follow him until the edge of the forest and wait until he couldn't anymore. Luffy found it frustrating as the days continued like this into Fall. Than all of a sudden Law started acting different, especially on the first day it snowed.
Law hadn't come down for breakfast or lunch that day. According to his friend Ussopp Law refused to leave the comforts of his bed for nothing. The older raven haired was buried ten feet deep under his blankets with his polar bear Bepo the entire day. Luffy Concluded that maybe he was sick and tried to get Ussopp to sneak food to him.
"come on! Law will feel better once he gets some meat! im sure of it!"
"Luffy no we cant sneak food from the dinning hall into our house! and eating meat doesn't always make everyone feel better like you do carnivore!"
Luffy and Ussopp bicker back and forth for some time until Nami got fed up with them and smacked them into oblivion.
"Shut up already you too i can't eat with you idiots yammering right by my ears! If Luffy is so worried about Laws health than ill take him the food."
"AH Nami-swan is so beautiful when shes angry! and so kind too!" Sanji claimed excitedly.
"Yeah yeah whatever."She spoke as she pulled out a large cloth napkin and started loading it with some food for the older raven.
"I wish that I could go to Toroa myself but Slytherins are mean." Luffy pouted before taking a bite out of meat. Ussopp smacked Luffy for the comment but than apologized since it was basically true. Most of the Slytherin house was a big dick to everyone.
Nami ignored the commotion as she got up and head inside to go to the shifting stairs to deliver food to Law. It took the young Ginger to get to the house but once she was at the olders door she gently knocked and waited till the other called.
"what?"
"Its Nami, I've got food for you."
"go away i'm not hungry."
"Luffy told me to bring you food."
"so?"
"So please let me in before Luffy makes a wreck of the place trying to feed you."
"..."
"..."
"Fine come in." The other grumbled as Nami sighed with relief. What she said was honestly true, her captain couldn't stop talking about the other and asking strange question that no body with their group would know about. They barely knew the guy to be honest other than he was pretty well kept to himself, worked hard in all of his classes, and was just socially akward around people or situations he felt like he couldn't handle. Nami opened the door and closed it behind her as she walked over to the bed and put the food on the table side. She looked over to see Law head deep in the covers, only his hair visible while the young polar bear upon Laws stomach softly growled at Nami in a friendly way. She pulled the covers off of the other sightly only to get a small glimse of white before he pulled the covers back over his head.\
"Don't."
"Law you look terrible."
"No shit. didnt long nose-ya tell you im sick."
"well yeah but your really pale. Maybe you should go see the Nurse."
"No. im fine. Besides they cant help anyway." He spoke as he rolled over away from Nami. She sighed softly and looked out the window to see the snow softly fall and it make her smile.
"Its really pretty out there. The way the snow slowly drifts down is calming, kinda always like this time of year."
"... I dont like snow."
"Hm? why not? its pretty, pure white and it brings people together to keep warm by the fire or play in the snow."
" I just dont like snow or fire. Makes me sick to my stomach."
"Is that why your up here?"
"mmh."
"why dont you like the snow or fire?"
"..." Law went silent giving Nami the impression it wasnt a good topic for him to discuss so she sat down on the end of the bed and petted bepo a little before speaking.
"When i was a little girl, my mother and my sister always had this tradition on Christmas. We would go get one item we wanted from any store, get some stuff for chicken and veggie soup, and curl up by the fire place and tell stories to one another."
"Why only one item?" Law finally spoke up, poking his head out from under the covers to look at Nami as she spoke.
"We were basically broke. We barely every had enough money to live off of, and it always took my mom to save up just enough money for that special day since it was close to the day that we came into her life." She looked over at Law and saw the puzzled look on her face and giggled. "Me and my sister were orphans from a war zone, she was a muggle soldier stationed in our town. i don't remember it but that's what my sister and mom told me how they found me. i was left alone in my crib crying my eyes out when my sister found me, than my mom found us and took us in and raised us as her own kids. It wasn't easy all the time, sometimes we would fight. I would get angry and steal stuff and fight with my sister. Lord knows i was a brat at the time but they loved me even though i was a trouble maker. When they found out i could use magic they were so happy for me, my mother knew of the wizarding world because her sister was a muggle born wizard so she saw this as a great opportunity for me. that i could get a good education for myself without trouble. Both of them were happy for me."
"you sound like you have a great family." Law spoke softly, remebering some things from when he was younger.
"Had actually. My sister dyed of Cancer at the age of 15 and my mother died in a fire because of me a year after that." Nami choked out, like it being between a laugh and holding back tears. "Word got out that i was a witch and the town that i lived in was so small and small minded. They, uh, tried to burn me at the stake but ended up killing my mother instead." She wiped away a tear that started trailing down her face and took a deep breath to calm down. "My mother died trying to protect me. I was her last daughter who had a chance at life and she gave hers for me." She spoke softly as she looked over at Law and smiled softly before wiping the tears away with the back of her hand.
Law could feel her pain, related to it in many ways so for a moment he sat up and sat beside her after grabbing his hate and putting it on to cover his face a bit. "I'm sorry that had to happen to you Nami. You actually seem like a kind person even though your evil towards your friends at times." He chuckled the last part and made the young ginger giggle.
"Yeah i know i can be mean to them some times but its not out of hate but out of love. Luffy and his brothers were the first one to ever take me in after her death. They treated me like a friend, like family even though i was a complete stranger to them at the time." Nami looked over at Law before out the window across the room and smiled. "Luffy is an amazing person who's wacky in a way but is smart and kind when it counts. He doesn't care about my back story, he doesn't pity me or coddle me. He treats me like someone hes known all his life without knowing much about me." She looked back over at law and smiled before nudging him a little. "So its ok. try to be around him at least if not all of us. We wont judge no matter whats happened to you." She spoke as she got up, Law following her movements with his eyes. She slowly walked to the door and stopped to look over her shoulder. "oh and keep this little chat between you and me please, because i don't want the slytherin house thinking i'm a big cry baby." She winked at him as he nodded before she left.
'Hang around luffy-ya? maybe...'
