We walked back upstairs carefully, after the noise had stopped. On the way up the stairs, one broke. I almost fell but Dallon grabbed me by my arm. He hoisted me back up and we continued up.
The house seemed untouched except for the fact that things were everywhere from the shaking and wind, also the windows that were broken. I walked over to the front door and opened it. Hail laid melting on his doorstep. The street across from Dallon's had everything torn apart. A big deep trail lay on top of it. I look in the direction of the trail and see the tornado in the distance. It was heading for my house. I watch from the doorway as I see my house get ripped to bits.
"You can stay here. I saw what happened. And don't worry I don't mind at all." He scared me and made me jump. He chuckled slightly and walked into his kitchen. I sighed and walked over to his couch. Upon sitting down I yawn.
After about 3 minutes, Dallon comes back out with clothes in hand. "Here, you can take a shower and wear these. I'll wash your wet clothes." I sigh and take the clothes. "Bathroom's on the right upstairs." I nod and make my way to the washroom. As I'm walking up the stairs, I see many pictures of Dallon and more guys. Some of him and a beautiful girl. They look very alike. I continue into the bathroom and lay the extra clothes on the counter.
After my shower, I change and head back downstairs. Dallon is sitting on the couch reading something. "Dallon, as much as you say you don't mind, once I get my clothes back, I'm gonna find somewhere to live. I'll contact my parents or another friend." He turned around on the couch. A saddened look on his face. "Nik, your mom called you while you were in the shower. I didn't answer but she left a message. I think you'll want to listen to it." I picked my phone up off the coffee table and went to my voicemails. "Nikki, your dad and I want to tell you something. We don't want to see you again. You dropped out of college and ruined your life. Goodbye." I set my phone down calmly and quietly asked, "Where's my clothes?" Dallon stood up. "I'm not letting you go out there all alone with nothing until you prove that someone will help you." I broke down crying in the floor. Dallon pulled me up onto the couch and held me as I cried. "I don't understand it! I-I-I did everything to make them happy! First I lost Dani now...... I just... I don't get it......" He rubbed my back soothingly. "Dallon?" "Yea?" "Why do you care so much?" He sighs. "You don't deserve everything that's happening to you. I wanna help you. You are in a vulnerable state right now. And I feel like I know you." I did have this small feeling I knew him from somewhere, I just didn't know where. "Do you have your yearbooks from high school?" I asked. He nodded and walked over to a chest near the window.
After rummaging through the chest for a little, Dallon came back with a year book that looked exactly like mine. I opened it up and saw all the pictures from year 11 (11th grade). From the formal all the way to the free day at the end of the year. I smiled when I saw me and Dani at dance class. Upon turning the page, I see the yearbook photos.
Daniel Arbor
She was at the top of the list because of her last name. I looked through all the others until I found me. I find the picture horrifying. Next to me, Dallon was looking over my shoulder. "You were so cute." He mumbled, barely audible. I faintly blushed and continued looking for Dallon. He, of course, was at the back. What I found strange was that 'Daddy Long Legs' was written next to it. I pointed to it and gave Dallon a confused look. "Don't ask." I put my hands up in surrender and closed the book, handing it back to Dallon."We should fix up your house. It got pretty trashed." He looked up from his phone and shrugged. "Yea. I guess we'll need new windows so we don't get murdered in our sleep." I gave him a shocked look. He just smiled innocently. He got up and started looking for his keys. Seeing him bend in those ways made me laugh since no man I know would ever bend like that. He looked back at me. "What's so funny?" I had a hard time talking. "You you were bent over!" I busted out laughing again and rolled on the couch. "Oh ha ha very funny." He continued searching for his keys. At one point his ass was completely in the air as he lay on the floor. He groaned loudly as he gave up and laid there with his ass in the air. "You want some help?" I ask, holding back a laugh. He mumbles a yea and turns his head towards me. I was holding his keys on my finger. He gives me that look that says "are you serious".
In his car, I laid my head on the window. "How are we gonna get the stuff we need?" I ask. "Well, there's a hardware store down 6 blocks or so. We can get everything there." I hum in agreement. "Can we turn the radio on?" I ask quietly. "Yea!" He pushes a big button and soon Panic blasted throughout the car. "I love these songs!" I say slightly dancing. "Do you know the members?" I shook my head. "Well, there's Brendon, the lead singer. And then Kenny the guitarist. Dan is the drummer and I'm on the bass." My eyes are wide when he says that. "You're in that band?" I ask. He nods.
