Not A Dream

CHAPTER 1

With an outrageous pain in the back of my skull, cuts that tore  through my flesh and a blacked out vision, I awoke in a strange setting. It took a while to focus, especially with a pounding head, but with what i could see i came to the conclusion that myself and others, dead or alive, have crash landed in the wilderness. With bolts of panic that rushed through my body and the knot in my stomach, i stood up and span around to gather information of the surroundings we're all in.
" Oh god Oh god Oh god" i said over and over again as if i had already gone insane. The surroundings were just full of trees and other exotic plants and leaves, there was a huge drop where at the bottom a river was placed, the half of the plane i was in was placed in a cut out from the edge of the cliff, just hanging there by a rock and a couple of thick vines, unfortunately though not in a steady position. After a minute of heaving breathing, and sobbing, i fell on my knees and blankly stared into the muddy ground as if I was hoping it was all just a dream, but it is not a dream. With all the panic and worry in me, I've managed to block every noise around me. Until i snapped back like I gained consciousness again and i heard cries of pain in the corner of my ear and found my good friend Lara, cowering in the distance against a crooked tree, i was separated by the extreme cut the crashed plane made before balancing on the edge of the cliff. I reacted faster than i would if i'd touch a hot pan; and dashed towards Lara.

Lara's foot was wedged between the two tree roots and slowly crushing her foot, the impact of the crash must of flung her out and forced her foot into this small gap, whilst the rest of her body was pressed up against the crooked tree. Lara cried, "Kat... I need your help... I can't move, it hurts like hell." While she yelled with pain, the sound of the plane creaking startled me.
"Okay okay okay, calm down Kat calm down," i tried my best to control my breathing but i couldn't stop. " I'm going to get you out, okay, somehow but im going to try," Lara clenched her teeth and locked her eyes shut.
"Okay let me just find something okay?" I'll be right back just hang in there okay." I couldn't think straight, my breathing was too heavy and i was staring shake. Remember Kat, what did my dad tell me? How do i stop it? Before this happened i suffered from panic attacks and other disorders, my dad was always the one to come rescue me, take deep breaths in and three breaths out; it worked the shaking disappeared, i can control my breathing. Again though, i have managed to block all sounds and my awareness out, but it's too late, i come back as soon as a tree from the impact of the plane snapped and feel.
Lara screamed "Move!!" Whilst trying to move herself to push me out the way. Her foot slipped out of the roots and she fell to the mud. I ducked whilst the tree planished to the ground, fortunately the tail of the plane stopped the tree from completing its fall, but at a cost of making the plane less steady. The ground around Lara collapsed and tumbled off the cliff, i grabbed Lara's hand as she was falling down with it, with all my strength i yanked her up to me. All the rock and the balls of mud and slush knocked the plane further down but didn't knock it off the edge entirely.
"Some school trip ay?" Lara said whilst panting. I looked at her, said nothing and turned to walk away. Lara limping over squealed, " alright no more jokes, a little help here?" I turned around smirked and softly placed her arm around my shoulder and dragged her along.
"So what now?" I questioned myself, "i mean we are kinda stuck here aren't we?" Lara thought for a second and answered
"well i guess we could build shelter and stuff, you know how to make a fire cause pffft i have no clue..." I stared into the distant trees and plants
"Err sure" to be honest i had an idea of how to make it, my dad used to take me camping as a younger child he taught me a trick or two, but putting it into action was the tricky part.
